It's a Proflex 757. Not bad, but a bit heavy. I rode it a lot at first, but then found myself spending more time on my Cannondale F1000 beacause it's lighter. It's a nice ride for the types of trails I ride in the Anchorage area. I am kinda slowing down and ride less than I used to. Spending more time at the range. Bad habit I'm trying to break!

Well sir, If you're seeking an outside rider's opinion than I'd point you toward the Cannondale you've been riding all allaolg.

I won some stuff in a dodgy contest in high school

IIRC, I won a 2minute noodle pack, a tin of pineapple, a stick of "Livesavers"(lollie) and some more stuff.

Only thing I have ever won.

What's your opinion of those?

They are a tool, like any other tool we use in this job. Some  brands are better than others.
They aren't issued to the patrol officers in my agency, but the SWAT guys have them.

I attended an audition for "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" back in 2001.  I passed the test/audition and was flown to NYC to be on the show.  I wasn't good enough to get past the "Fastest Finger" segment so I never made it to the "Hot Seat" ..I did get a chance to see the WTC a few months before it fell.

I won a snowmobile from the Michigan snowmobilers association. $11 is what I paid for the tickets.
I think that was in '96 Artic Cat 580 EXT EFI, rode it for 1 season and sold it to my brother-in-law.

Yeah, I won an all expense paid trip for two to Jamaica for a week sponsored by the local travel agency.  This was particularly funny because the year before my Mom won an all expense paid trip for one to Hawaii for a week sponsored by the same travel agency.  The joke around town was that there was some kind of "fix", but it was pure coincidence.

I won a deck of card protector sleeves at a Magic: The Gathering tournament when I was in college and a thermos at a drawing at work.

I don't know if you call it a contest, but I got an award for the highest SAT score in my county in 1995.  Got my picture on the front page of the local paper too.  (slow news day )

Nope. I've never won a damn thing that wasn't a competition of some sort.
When it comes to luck in drawings, lottery, bingo, whatever, I never win.

A local realtor had a prize of $100 for the person that got the lowest re-finance percentage loan during a time period in the 90's.  I won @ 6.5%.

My best shooting buddy won a 2004 Mazda RX8 last weekend at a chamber of commerce give away.

During a month long lucky streak, I hit 5 of 6 twice and 4 of 6 three times on the Ohio lottery.  Since then nothing...
