Guess not.

My brother in-law that has a capital venture firm in HK calls me a banana

Yeah, technically I am a "banana" too.  Yellow on the outside, white on the inside.

That's like an Oreo, only with MSG added!

I told him he should have chosen "Richard" for his American first name.

In Vietnam names like Hung, Phuc, and Long are common. You need to pick Vietnamese friends with those names.

I have also met a Chau Tang and a Phuc Yu.

In Vietnam if they catch you with a stash of firearms they execute you.  My buddy can't believe how many guns I have.

Er, how many guns I used to have before the tragic boating accident.

Half Thai, born in Bangkok. I used to own AR's and other assorted bangsticks, but again, a lacking sense of boating safety has resulted in heartbreak...

I think now that we have banded together we should demand a slant eyed smiley/icon. Maybe one with a conical hat?

Yes I have noticed that.  I assume it's because ken is Japanese for sword (i.e. kendo).

I will be (sorta).  I just need to buy a Fab10 or two.  I know it's sort of cheating, but I didn't get my real AR before the ban like all the smart people in CA did.  I didn't even know the ban was happening until it was too late, and when I did find out I was mad as hell.  There were so many times I could have easily bought a few lowers.

ETA:  I'm a twinkie too.  Don't have too many asian friends, which isn't easy, considering I grew up right next to Little Saigon in Orange County.  I'm half Japanese and half Chinese.

Unknown, but it appears as though the Asian members outnumber ARFCOM's Black members.  Besides CavVet and myself, I know of only a couple.

I am a white boy, but I went to Virginia State University (HBCU). Myself, some fellow Engineering Technology Students, and some ROTC guys would go plink on occasion. Between classes we would surf the gunboards and talk about the latest and greatest. I don't know if any of the guys still surf the site or not.

So there may be a few Black lurkers floating around out there, we just got to get them posting.

Race was something invented by men in small slow boats or caravans. It is a concept to which liberals cling with great desperation in this country claiming it has some medical benefits even though genetic analysis would be far more precise. Boys, let's get over this "I'm an Asian" thing. It helps the liberals put us into groups. Liberals want that -- they want groups and call that "diversity." They consider me an "Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander." I like the response where the guy says he's an American. An individual.

Okay... maybe that's too heavy!

I'm an individual who's ancestors all came from Japan.

And are you white?

This is what gets me... a "white" person can be born in a different country, come to the US and be an American.

An Asian could be a 2nd Gen American born and NEVER been outside the US, but still be looked upon as an "Asian". Why cant they just call themselves American too?
