We've enjoyed gawking at each other's war toys, so how 'bout some photos of the guns we plink and hunt with for a change?
Here are some of the ones I like to use:

1. 1989 Remington 700 BDL "AS" in 7mm Rem.Mag.
Bell&Carlson Thumbhole Sporter stock.
Leupold 4.5-14x40 Tactical/Mil-Dot w/6" sunshade in Redfield JR base and low matte rings.
Harris bipod and Bianchi Cobra sling.

2. 1995 Remington 700 BDL-DM in .338 Win.Mag.
Redfield 1.75-5x20 Lo-Pro Widefield in Redfield JR base and low rings.
Butler Creek Alaskan sling.

3. 1995 Browning BAR Safari MKII in 7mm Rem.Mag.
Bell&Carlson 2-pc. stock. Leupold 4.5-14x40 w/6" sunshade in Millett 1-pc. base and Millett "engraved" medium rings. Stoney Point target turrets for the scope. B-SQUARE Roto-Tilt Match bipod and Browning X-cellerator sling.

4. 2000 (Y2K) Remington 7400 Synthetic Carbine in .30-06 Govt.
Remington forend drilled for sling swivel (which will mount a Harris bipod attachment...) and Choate 870 pistolgrip buttstock (filed slightly to fit the smaller action on the rifle).
Leupold 4.5-14x40 matte scope in Redfield JR base and low matte rings.  Uncle Mikes nylon sling.
I have since mounted a hooded front sight on the 7400 and will install a Bell&Carlson 2-pc. stock as well as a smaller scope in detachable rings on this carbine to get it down to its intended purpose of being a handy carrying rifle.  It looked pretty wicked with the Millett 10-rd. mag and the bipod attached to it for the big Y2K scare, though...

Non-war toys?  You mean like sporting guns?  Sorry, I don't own any.  I failed the sporting purposes test.

I do have this big noisemaker...

Colt,

What type of sling is that on the MAC and where did you get it? I would like to get something similar. Can you clip it onto the front strap retainer? Thanks.

Colt, thanks. I thought it looked like some kind of strap off some old LBE. You aren't the first person Ive seen using something like that and I would like to pick something up similar for one of mine. Wouldn't mind getting a thigh holster as well.

"Strap Carrying General Purpose" I can't read the rest of the print, but I got a bunch of them from Sportsmans Guide, I think they were something like 5 / $6.00.  Come in handy for all kinds of stuff!

Bussy007...

I like your Remy 7400 with the stock mods!  How much work did you have to do to make the pistol grip stock work?

Is the Millet mag reliable?  How much did you pay for it (mag)?

JDP---
the Choate stock seen on the Remington 7400 was filed slightly around the contour that fits into the back of the action.  Not much at all, only enough to make a TIGHT fit.  It still fits the 870 when you cinch down the stockbolt.
The rifle has NO threaded muzzle; NO bayonet lug; NO flash hider; etc., etc., etc.,...so it is within the law as far as the stock replacement goes, and it really helped with keeping my now slightly arthritic thumbjoints(job related hazard) from aching so much.  It actually has a medicinal purpose...
The 10-rd. mags I haven't tried out yet, but, they do not have the bolt hold open device, which is the back end of the follower in the magazine.  The factory mags worked fine and have the hold open feature.

Here's what is in the safe right now -

Top to bottom:
SLR-95 with Global US parts kit, B-square mount, Millet red-dot sight
Remington 870 HD with obvious mods
Bushmaster 20" post-ban
PWA 16" pre-ban
Ruger 10-22 Target model
Glock 30 .45
Ruger SP101 .347 Mag
Para Ordnance P14-45
Vertical on right - Springfield M2 22LR Match rifle circa 1947
Missing from the photo are a pre-ban Oly which the receiver is at the factory right now getting repaired, the LEGP which should be here in another week or so (I hope), a Winchester 69A 22lr bolt, a Stevens 620 20ga pump, and a Winchester 410ga break action single shot.

I have a couple of old Rem 700's, two 870 Wingmasters, and some blackpowder stuff down in my dad's safe.

Further picture posting test and variation on a theme...The "Y2K" setup with the 7400 "do it all and still find ammo(.30-06)" and the "don't leave home without it" 870:

...and the last ones of the 7400, including one with the aforementioned unused 10-rd. mag in place, just to show how short this little carbine really is.  I LOVE this RIFLE...!

JDP---did you get a look at that little rise at the back of the slope on the action?  That's the amount of difference in the actions of the 7400 & 870.  Not much.  Works for me!
