Very true.  The people in those planes had it tough because they knew what was going on before the impact.  What they went through should NEVER be forgotten and should forever motivate us to never let it happen again.  The sheer terror is unfathomable

Firefighters are the bravest people I have ever met, they go in harms way daily to save others… it's a 'job'… they could say 'no'… they never do.

Just a little insight for people from someone who worked downtown. Lower Manhattan was CLOSED for six weeks. Thats about 75-100 blocks of prime real estate. The main power grid was located BELOW the WTC so power was out for a LONG while. Power was restored with huge generators (tractor trailor sized!) until the grid was replaced/repaired. Lower Manhattan is only about 60% of what it used to be. We personally have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because NYC is still feeling the effects of 9-11. ... and the smell... imagine a mix of burnt wiring, burning flesh with a mix of chemicals... Not to mention that the fire burned for weeks and the smell lasted much longer. Never forget? Don't think I could if I tried.

I think I mentioned this last year, but I have that film canister I filled with 9/11 ash that to this day smells like it did on 9/11/01.  I open it up every once in awhile, take a whif and I could swear to you it were filled with tear gas.  The memories are very vivid when you smell it, very vivid.
