Fellahs: Let us also not forget the credibility the UN lost when it booted the US from the Human Rights Commission. The majority of votes don't necessarily mean something is right. That is why we have a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. That is also why the UN has a Security Council. Heck, we don't even pay our "dues" to the UN - and that was before this human rights fiasco. I hardly think it's rational to think our Congress would sell out this country to UN authority. They kinda remind me of a High School Student Council - purely symbolic, with the school board and administrators holding the real power.

steve m your statement about them wanting to keep guns out of the hands of "bad people" shows you don't think this out enough. it aint that simple. but here is something that is. if they're that much of a danger that they shouldn't have guns WHAT ARE THEY DOING OUT OF JAIL. should we hide the knives from um too. give someone a knife and the desire and there ain't many people they couldn't take out. plus to keep guns away from them means that guns can't be available to steal or buy illegally. if you didn't take notice are borders aren't exactly air tight. dk-prof thats great what your friends did but the UN is still f---ed up and has no right to infringe on are constitutional rights.

Just like any bureaucracy, when there's not enough legitimate things to do, they still have to justify their existance my making shit up. Almost makes me wish some little piss-ant country would invade some other little piss-ant country so it'd keep there minds off of screwing the rest of us.

Heavy Metal: "Countries would also be required to keep records on all guns, parts and ammunition made within their borders for 10 years." Sounds to me like they intend to establish a database of every gun part and all ammunition. You will need to give your thumb print before purchasing a brick of .22lr. The government will keep a database of your 10 round mags. Manufacturers will have to track every spring and firing pin, driving the cost of a mini14 to $3000 each. Yeah, I know this is a worst case scenario, but it could come to pass. These socialists are up to no good. This is just an incremental step in their scheme for world domination. Don't be fooled. they know what they are doing.

The UN is the future and 200 year old documents are over 200 years old are quickly becoming outdated and meaningless. The UN is the only international benevolent organization that has been nobly protecting all of humanity.
Link Posted: 6/3/2001 2:07:30 PM EDT
I can't believe some of you are actuall okay with this. What is wrong with you? Any endity trying to override one's country's constitution is AN ENEMY! Regardless of it's humanitarian "goals". The UN was thought up and authored by COMMUNISTS, and its goal is to eventually have a world government. Is that okay? Sure, sounds fine to me. I say lets get this show on the road. We can't win back our rights the legal way anymore. [sniper] [uzi]

Dk-prof, Funny you mention WWII. You see the partisans were Serbs who were fighing against the Germans and their allies the Croats and the Bosnian Muslims. Who by the way, had their own SS units. One of the books I have, has the picture of a Serbian woman burned. Before they burned her they cut her left breast. Why? Because in the Orthodox religion Virgin Mary breast feeds the child Jesus with her left breast. Croats and Germans are Christians, so take a guess who did it. There are other pictures of executions and burned people who happen to be Serbs. I have no doubts that the stories your soldier friends told you are true. Whoever has the top hand can get away with more than the one who is losing. I hope you don't belive that all the good guys are on one side and all the bad guys are on the other. There are good and bad people everywhere no matter what side they're on. Since the old saying holds true; that the enemy of my enemy is my friend your UN buddies are on the other side on this one. As for my country, we go a long way back fighting against the Muslims. Almost 1600 years. We were occupied for 500 years and when we declared independence they almost wiped us out. Our history books are full of names of different places like cities, monestarys and churches that were burned down with women and children inside. When I was a soldier I served on the island of Chios. That island was burned to the ground during the war. I used to think it was some kind of propaganda until I went there. When they rebuilt the villages, they were built right next to the burned one. Every single one.Thats one examble from many. So I stand by my first statement. As for your 6'3'' buddies, the bigger they are the harder they fall. As for me I'm 5'6'' and I make a small target.i am not scary but holding a gun...well.any way read a history book about the balcans you may find out a think or two about the nations there.and why we can not get along.

double tap - you are transferring an international problem to local affairs. keeping a knife out of the hands of a convict is quite different from keeping a military weapon out of the hands of a terrorist. if you read the press release from our good friends from newsmax- the effort is to do such a thing. how is this infringding on our constitutional rights? perhaps it's just me - but being raised overseas - international cooperation was a plus to getting things done - not a detriment. international diversity was the norm. my best mates in school were a pom, a kiwi, an aussie, another yank and a cat from the netherlands. in present times i'd say a good third of my friends are european/commonwealth. i am not praising the un - it is a political organization with members from 150 different countries. i have friends who wear/ have worn blue helmets and they are doing good. princess diana worked very closely with the un to help ban landmines that were killing innocents and children - was she a tool of the oppressors also? PLEASE EXPLAIN to me in regular english - not some psuedo constitutional/ founding father type table thumping. but in real terms in real words exactly how and why the u.n. so evil? without real proof and evidence - all this international slander - only ads to a very poor and unfortunately stereotypical view of foreigners of the miopic vision and international ignorence of most americans who lack knowlegde of international geography history and cultures. do you guys what bbc world news? or deutsche welle tv? - that is news - some bubble headed bleach blonde telling me how long to cook meat or another story on some retarded celebrity topic is not news.. (sorry deviated) now guys, i am listening about the u.n. - please tell me factually. thank you in advance steve

Steve M, I think you better do some research on this. They way I read it, they mean to take guns out of the hands of just about everyone but their favored governments. While I'm not ready to start shooting at blue helmets, I am concerned where this is going. As far as all of these conspiracy theories, some of them are laughable/entertaining and some can't be so easily dismissed. I consider this one to be one of those not so easily dismissed. Besides, being a little paranoid is healthy. These are indeed strange days, and my instincts/common sense tells me something wicked this way comes.

I hate the UN, and anybody that likes it. Foreigners might like the UN because they don't have the personal freedoms and protection of our Constitution to lose. If the New World Order is real, then how could our Constitution exist within it? Don't fool yourselves, the NWO elitist want our Constitution done away with because it creates to many problems for them. They want all sheeple under the New World Order UN umbrella and it's world system. To hell with foreigners and what they think. Edited for college boys/the word is lose/not loose he haw hahaha

Hahahahahaha! Dude, you need to go to some European countries where people don't get thrown in prison for having a medical problem (drug addiction) and where books aren't banned in schools, where you don't have to be 21 to drink a beer and where people are allowed to see breasts and hear foul language on TV - before you start bragging about U.S. personal freedoms. Whose agenda exactly is served by making the average american paranoid and suspicious about the UN? This is such a classic political strategy to manipulate people - make them focus on some imagined external threat, and they won't notice how much they're being screwed at home.

DR-Prof, I don not have to go anywhere, why would I want to leave a place that you chose to come to, assuming your foreign? HAHAHA If it's better their than why are you here? [-!-!-] nothing personal of course.

well lets talk morals i dont think i want my children to drink beer or see nudity on tv at young ages. freedoms are needed but some guid lines are needed for the sheeple. if it was legal for 14 or 15 year olds to drink in the US how many kids would abuse it . our culture is not set up with parents teaching ther children right from wrong.

The U.S. is a good country, but if the people here would become team players and quit playing the tired "I am an individual" game, the UN would make it even better.

Hate to pee-pee on the parade there, Steve, but 'twixt the lines of that thar missive is the potential for just the very thing you ridicule. Remember, in order to 'keep track' of firearms and ammunition, it necessary to know who owns them. See my point? Hello?

steve your scarin me. think about your replies. they have a hard time keeping nukes under wraps and you think they gonna keep guns from groups with money that want them. i still say my statement is relevant.
