Today was the first meeting in Lapeer of the "Michigan Pit Crew". Turnout was expected to be pretty good but was light due to rainy conditions. Shooting started about 10:30 or so after the rain quit. A lot of .223 rounds were sent down range along with a bunch of 7.62x39. Other calibers in attendance included .45, .308, 12 guage, .30 carbine, .22, and probably a few more that I forgot. Then Tall Shadow showed us all what cool was all about and broke out the State Arms Knob Creek 2000 .50 BMG single shot rifle. That is one big mean looking piece of iron. Tall Shadow was gentleman enough to offer everyone a turn behind the trigger of that monster. MOST IMPRESSIVE. Then Tall proceeded to pull out a second big .50. This one was considerably lighter in weight and was a bit shorter but spoke with just as much authority as the State Arms gun. This one could be fired from the shoulder and was like a 12 guage on steroids. For anyone who has never been around a rifle this big, the muzzle blast must be experienced to be believed. VERY COOL, thanks Tall. A bit later the rain showed back up and we spent a while huddled up under a canopy. Once the rain cleared out we went back to blasting. Everyone finally decided to clear out about 2:30 as a new storm was approaching. The guys that showed up had a good time. Maybe next time our weather will be more cooperative. Now its time for our brothers to the north to put something together.
This was taken after a couple of the guys had already left.

This one is a little lighter and you can see the hardware a little better.
