My quick cam doesn't do the rifle justice, and it isn't purple like the photos.

If your pondering buying one and haven't made up you mind yet, all I can say is study long and study wrong.  You'll be kicking yourself in the ass if you don't jump on this great bargain.

Thanx for sharing. Where'd you get that flat top mount rear sight combo thingy? and how much if you don't mind me asking

That's the Tac handle that Castle Arms is selling on the accessory page.  I believe it's $145 (regularly $190).  It will work with most any optics but it is specifically designed to go with the Aimpoint.  It even has a place built into it to carry a spare battery for the Aimpoint and the iron sights can be used without removing the sight.

Nice.
A worthwhile investment and addition to the collection.
I'll have to save $$$ for this, but, I'd like to get one.

Hey Bootedaddy, does the rear sight of the Tac handle obscure the field of view through your Aimpoint?
How about a pic of what you see looking through the Aimpoint?

Grin & Barret,
I noticed that the rifle on the bottom of your pic (posted on ar15.com) has a low mounted scope while keeping the front site of the AR.  Do yuo see a shadow?  Do you lose light gathering?  Interested in some input.
thanks,
ptp

Bootedaddy,

How do you like the tac-handle with the aimpoint?
Can you clearly see the iron sights through the aimpoint?

I like the idea of having instant back up sights over the flip up models.

Let me know.

BTW, nice rifle.

Hey PTP,
The front objective of my scope sits even closer to the front sight as the one pictured and the view through the scope looks the same whether it is on the rifle or not.

Part-time pork since those are some of my toys,I'll answer that ? for you.the front sight post doesn't show up that all.my only problem with using the low rings,is i have a hard time pulling the charging handle back,i have to use both hands to do so.i'll be buying some taller ring this week.mmk

Guys the tac handle is way cool, and it was designed for use especially for the Aimpoint. In fact it has a storage compartment for a spare battery for the Aimpoint.

First of all the Aimpoint being parralex free doesn't require a good cheek weld and centering the dot in the sight so for the most part the rear iron sights aren't anywhere close to being in the line of sight or in the way when useing the Aimpoint.

But if you need to fall back on the iron sights they can still be used.  The irons line up through the very lower portion of the Aimpoint just as they do when using the goose neck forward mount that is used with a normal carry handle.  I don't think my quick cam has sufficient depth of field to take a picture to illustrate this.

THANK YOU TROY..i'll do that, your opinions are ones that i pay attention to,along with a handful or two of others on this board.i actually get a very good check weld as it is right now,LOL a whole lot better than when i had that scope on the carry handle of the bushie shorty ak in the top rack.mmk
