Some of you people would cure a goddamn headache by cutting off your fucking head.

Absolutely unfuckingreal. If we lose, I'll know why.

Sad.

That was a surprisingly good speech.  I think he's going to f*ck our gun rights here in CA, but that aside, he's done a darn good job with the RNC so far.

Who's his speechwriter?

The text Airwolf posted must have been edited because it is not complete. It doesnt have any of the kerry bashing in it, and says nothering about his GIRLIE MAN comment. Way to go media for fudgeing up a nice speech.

Huh?

Speaking of acting, one of my movies was called "True Lies." It's what the Democrats should have called their convention.

There is another way you can tell you're a Republican. You have faith in free enterprise, faith in the resourcefulness of the American people ... and faith in the U.S. economy. To those critics who are so pessimistic about our economy, I say: "Don't be economic girlie men!"

I didn't see the speech on-air.  What did he say directly about Kerry?

Arnie did a great job...

I especially liked:

I finally arrived here in 1968. I had empty pockets, but I was full of dreams. The presidential campaign was in full swing. I remember watching the Nixon and Humphrey presidential race on TV. A friend who spoke German and English, translated for me. I heard Humphrey saying things that sounded like socialism, which is what I had just left. But then I heard Nixon speak. He was talking about free enterprise, getting government off your back, lowering taxes and strengthening the military. Listening to Nixon speak sounded more like a breath of fresh air.

I said to my friend, "What party is he?" My friend said, "He's a Republican." I said, "Then I am a Republican!" And I've been a Republican ever since! And trust me, in my wife's family, that's no small achievement! I'm proud to belong to the party of Abraham Lincoln, the party of Teddy Roosevelt, the party of Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) and the party of George W. Bush.

If you believe that government should be accountable to the people, not the people to the government...then you are a Republican! If you believe a person should be treated as an individual, not as a member of an interest group... then you are a Republican! If you believe your family knows how to spend your money better than the government does... then you are a Republican! If you believe our educational system should be held accountable for the progress of our children ... then you are a Republican! If you believe this country, not the United Nations (news - web sites), is the best hope of democracy in the world ... then you are a Republican! And, ladies and gentlemen ...if you believe we must be fierce and relentless and terminate terrorism ... then you are a Republican!

The 'Then You are a Republican' segment left me thinking Arnold does a better Kennedy than Kerry, and Kerry's had an entire lifetime of practice!

There is another way you can tell you're a Republican. You have faith in free enterprise, faith in the resourcefulness of the American people ... and faith in the U.S. economy. To those critics who are so pessimistic about our economy, I say: "Don't be economic girlie men!"

I don't know if he knew it would become his most famous line since 'I'll be back', but the 'girlie men' line (and the subsequent girlie-men response from the CA dems (Note to the jackass party: It is not good PR to respond to being called a bunch of crybaby pussies by... being a bunch of crybaby pussies & whining about the other guy being 'insensitive'!)... But I get the impression that crybaby Dems aside, that went over VERY well with 'normal' folks...

I don't have much hope for AB50. If he signs it, I won't vote for him next time around.

Yep, a very strong performance. I think the "four more years" chant was a bad move though. Killed the tempo of a really good speech.

[Something to think about--if you are older than 25 or so--if someone told you ten years ago there would be a Republican Governor in California today, what would have been your response?  Mine:  hysterical laughter while slowly backing away from the crazy person uttering the words.

10 years ago we had republican pete wilson as gov, before that was repub duekmajian
.
gay davis was only kali's 4th democrap gov EVER.

having a repub governor in kali is more the norm than not.

BUT with kali looking more liberal i could see how it is or going to be more difficult to get a repub gov.

The "girlie man" line isn't even Arnolds.

It's a Dana Carvey line from SNL when he and Kevin Neeland (sp?) did their mockery of the Terminator.

Written by AL Franken when he was a SNL writer, according to Laura Inghram.
