For those of you living in hot states, particularly hot & humid states, like Florida, I need your advice.

What type of carry system do you use? Since clothing is light, and jackets way too hot, what and how do you carry? Wearing lighter and fewer clothes seems very limiting when making a carry decision. Shoulder holsters, other than at night, are almost out of the question I would think. All those straps would make me a sweaty pig after about 30 minutes.

Fanny packs suck, period. Ankle holsters are not accessible enough. I was thinking of maybe an inside the pants holster for a small pistol. Maybe a smaller Glock? Maybe a thin profile 1911 model(Kimber, Wilson, Les Baer? Bulk is something I would like to possibly avoid. Polymer frames seem to make sense, but even my HK USP.45c is fairly thick. Since sweat would be a factor, the gun would need a very resilient coating on it to prevent rust problems.

The caliber has got to be at LEAST 9mm, more like a .40 though.

Any ideas or experiences, as always, are appreciated.

I live in TX where its hot most of the year and I carry a Glock 27 with plus 1 mag ext in an inside the pants holster. Preferably Kydex since it doesnt absorb sweat. You can wear pants or shorts with a white tucked-in undershirt to seperate the gun/holster from your skin and sweat. Wear a regular t-shirt over the undershirt that fits loosly and is long enough to cover you to about 5inches below your waistline.

Works for me year round!![:)]

I carry a Ruger SP101 .357 Mag snubnose in a pocket holster. It even works for me with cut-off jeans and a t-shirt. The holster is made by Ted Blocker and seems well made. Without frisking me, you'd never know it was there.
The only problem is I don't really have a way to carry any spare ammo or speedloaders, so if five shots aren't enough, too bad. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!

Currently I carry a KEL-TEC .32 in a pocket holster that works well in a front or rear pocket with extra mag in another pocket. If my wardrobe allows sometime I carry a .38 snubbie in an IWB holster. Since summer is here again I have been considering purchasing a baby Glock perhaps the m 36 and a leather tuckable holster. I know mitchrosen makes one called the IWB workman that I like. I also think Galco makes a cheaper modeland some others probably offer a tuckable version am sure. I have a pager pal and even sometimes carry a pager but it never worked well for me especially sitting. With dress type pants and the .32 in my front pocket I can have my hand on the gun ready to draw and no one knows (at least not for sure) with jeans I sometimes place in rear pocket and the holster makes it look like a wallet. Instead of the Glock I might also consider the kel-tec 9 or 40 since I have been very pleased with the .32(save me a couple or 3 hundred).

Glock 26 or Taurus 85 Ti in a Galco pocket holster. This setup will work with just about any clothing I have. With the light 38 I am rarely aware the thing is there. The Glock is a little heavier.

I have the ultimate holster for summer.  It holds your piece close to your hip and can be worn without a belt, even with a bathing suit.  It works real well.  Less protruding than any standard holster.  It even holds an extra mag. Check it out!
