The Fat Darrell ($4.75)
R.U. Grill & Pizza, New Brunswick, New Jersey
After last call, munchie-addled Rutgers kids mob College Avenue, where an army of “grease trucks” are parked 24/7. The Fat Darrell started in 1997 when, hungry and low on cash, student Darrell Butler begged the guy inside the R.U. Hungry truck to put everything he was craving—chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks with marinara, and French fries—on one roll. The next 10 people in line ordered it, too, and soon this arterial clusterfuck was the bestseller on campus, and R.U. got to move into a real live building. Now career-minded Rutgers grads have a place to eat and work! (142 Easton Ave., 732-828-1128; fatdarrell.com)

Is it wrong of me to be tempted by the Fat Darrell?  Why do I want to run out to the nearest bar and have one made up?

Of course if I'm totaly wasted drunk this one looks like it would work too

The Nuke ($5.75)
The Staggering Ox, Helena, Montana
“This is Montana, so we don’t have celebrities,” says Keith Clevenger, whose sandwich is famous in its own right. That’s ’cause it rolls Montana ham, roast beef, turkey, and three cheeses—topped off with cucumber-dill “camel spit.” The whole shebang is then shimmied into a beer cozy-esque Clubfoot Bun and served to grateful common folk. (400 Euclid, Lundy Center, 406-443-1729; staggeringox.com)

White Castle is great drunk food. Taco Bell also works.

Though, the BEST drunk food I ever got was from some random bar in NYC like 5-6 years ago....

A friend and I had deposited ourselves at this bar towards our "lets see if we can drink lower Manhattan dry tonight" tour. We were both pretty fucking drunk. We asked one of the guys behind the bar if they were still serving food, they said no...but we SMELLED the bacon that someone was cooking. We asked WTF, they told us they were frying it up for tomorrow morning's breakfast crowd.

We asked them for bacon, mayo, and american cheese on a sub, and they said ok.

Musta been a good pound of bacon on our sandwiches each, not to mention enough mayo to make a horse keel over from a heart attack.

That was fine eating.

Lots of responses, but none correct.

Patty Melt Plate from Waffle House is the correct answer.

Edited to add:  Sweettalk from a  toothless waitress while negotiating a pre-hangover fog accentuates the experience perfectly.

As you stumble back towards the front gate at Osan AFB in the RoK, you can stop at "Miss Lee McDonald's" and get a nice mystery burger with fried egg and cabbage, carrots and cucumber slices for only 1000 Won or about a $1.25, or maybe a nice bag of Yaki MonDu(fried rat dumplings) hmmmmmmmmmm good.    You know you are hammered when this is tasty, now where is that cab??

White Castles!!

To bad they don't have them here in AZ, except for the frozen ones that don't taste that great.

But come November when I go back to MO to deer hunt, I'm gonna hit that Whitey's right on Natural Bridge Rd. by the airport almost as soon as I get off the plane. (If it's still there)

Cant seem to find them down south here, but White Castle is my vote. Nothing like a bag of belly bombers after a serious night of drinking. I used to live in New Brunswick NJ, and the pizza and grease trucks were always available for the partying masses as well. About the only thing I miss about that State. The food.

That frozen pizza that you threw in the oven last night and when

Denny's or Waffle House. I've never been in a Denny's sober.

Taco bell if you're in a rush.

I don't drink too much anymore, but I'd have to say White Castles out of the local choices.

BUT back in college, I'd definitely have to say BURRITO KING.

Big fan of the White Castle, but if you have a Steak N' Shake, go with the Frisco Melt Platter w/ o-rings and cheese fries, a chili 5-way with lots of pepper juice, and a chocolate shake!  Perfect 3:30AM snack after you're thrown out of the pub!
(well it was good at 3:30, but when 8:00 A.M. rolls around, watch out!)

pizza.

Pizza really works in not getting you drunk. Eat pizza while drinking; you can drink quite a bit before you get drunk. I think it's the pizza dough. That's just my experience.
When I'm drunk (not often), I like to eat steaks.

Actually it's the grease.  Any greasy food will inhibit alcohol absorption.

Thanks, I learned something new. I guess I'll try bread dipped in bacon fat next time. I DO like bacon.
