IMHO the purpose of the desktop is to hold the icons for easy quick access of programs. Having a clean clear desktop without any icons or hardly any is like having a nice car but only looking at it. Never driving it because you are afraid of getting it dirty.
Oh and Norman. To each his own. Personally I just dont like alot of leather or the really short stubby bikes. But OTOH im sure that there are those who like that sort of thing. |

Before anybody says anything about the farm sluts thing, it's not what you think.
 Those that have read the farm sluts thread will know what I mean.  Also, if anybody is curious, my Windows taskbar and start menu look different because I use a program called StyleXP (you can find it on Google) and a skin from www.skinz.org. Sized down from 1024x768:
