The slingshot is under the bed with nice quarter inch ball bearings. They do not fragment when they hit drywall though, so I'm open to suggestions.

People ask why I use my crappy guns for home protection...The answer is simple, after we blow the intruder away, the police are clearly going to have to take our weapons, at least for little awhile.

They aint getting the good ones!

I'm going to try to poll this, lets see what happens.

Hell, if it's in/on your night stand, it's about the same as being under the bed, just choose that.

So where do you keep your firearm as you sleep?  I'll probably get flamed for this, but my 12-gauge pump lays uninhibited right under my spot of the bed.

I've slept in alot of places. When I slept in Hollywood Ka., my 1911 was under the pillow. When I sleep in Western Pa., it's on the dresser with the keys and the rest of the every day pocket stuff. Many times, the front door is left open. The only things roaming around at night were deer and bear.
I remember an LE training story where the cop accidently killed his teanage girl when she 'snuck back in after a midnight date. Really a sad story. When my kids were that age, I kept it well away from the bed so as not to be half asleep if something awakend me. (near Philadelphia)
