Not to be a downer, not knowing your situation, but sounds like you played into her hands. An ultimatum from a control freak should be met with a laugh and redirect. Then tell her to make you a sandwich if you want to piss her off. Such behavior only comes from the powerless. I’m not saying you should deal with it, but you have for 24 years and vows and all. I would make her end it, which I doubt she would. Now you will be blamed for her misery.
