But, did you try to sell them any APC lowers?
Focus man, focus. On a serious note, how were you initially notified of their firearms policy? Was it a sign in the lobby, or did they notify at booking / check-in? I haven't been to Vegas in a while, and am curious if it's a standard thing these days. |

On the heels of The Venetian screwing with people at shot show...
Vegas is has sorta lost its luster for me. |

Beyond fucking ridiculous. Everyone involved is a cowardly cunt and deserved every word you said and then some.
Also, looking at the DefCon vids it appears masks wearing was enforced. Glad I didn't get to make it this year. |

What made them think you had a gun in your room to begin with?

Good on you OP.
Fuck that retarded hipster Drew Carey looking motherfucker and his McDonald's commercial posse. $10 says they took your advice. I'd bet at least one of them have a screen name here. |

I checked into that hotel last Wednesday. I have zero idea how or why they suddenly got a bee in their bonnet last night at 11pm. I have been nothing but pleasant with everyone I've encountered at the conference and was in Pahrump Sunday morning shooting with a friend of mine. They found no firearms, they acknowledged I had no firearms, yet still acted like thugs.

Security guy keeps claiming he has a right to enter the private property of which he is in charge. Is not a hotel room the temporary domicile of the occupant and would not a search warrant be required to enter?

Quoted: Yeah. OP, if you told him you had a gun and their policy is all guns checked at desk, then you are at fault here. I don't like or approve of their policy, but it is private property and their rules apply. View Quote He stated he had gone shooting earlier in the day and he left his gun there. Quoted: Security guy keeps claiming he has a right to enter the private property of which he is in charge. Is not a hotel room the temporary domicile of the occupant and would not a search warrant be required to enter? View Quote There's a concept called quiet enjoyment that applies, generally meaning that hotel management will leave you alone to use the private space for it's intended purposes. Practically, the limits of quiet enjoyment are spelled out in the rental contract. The most common limit on it is No Smoking enforcement. OP's room rental agreement should have spelled out the firearms policy. Also, pretty ballsy of hotel management to go HAM at the DEFCON conference. That's a pretty bold strategy. |

Do you run a hotel/hostel/b&b where you force your guests out of their room in the middle of the night in their underwear to ransack through their personal belongings? What’s next, setting up hidden cameras in their room? Their business their rules amirite? |
|
When faced with armed people you can either leave, cooperate, or resist and get police called.
Use the security latch and peep hole. Don't answer to shit that is suspicious. Literally don't answer. Don't talk about shit that violates their policies or will make you a target. I get it, too late now and we don't make good choices under stress. I'd be tempted to tell them you aren't searching shit and I'm leaving. |

Excellent rant starting around 3:00 with Gestapo Gucci's disappointment at the empty safe. Good emphasis on the fucks.
9.5/10 Points deducted for not making a smartass comment about the poor man's Drew Carey. |

In the video, the guy in the suit says you told him about being a firearms manufacturer in the hall when you first left the room.
But what brought them to the room in the first place ? Edit - there are literally thousands of hotel rooms in Vegas most of which have a no firearms allowed policy. If not all of them now. Why was yours picked for a search ? |

Landlords have the ability to access for inspections with reasonable notice or emergency repairs. Does not apply here. That said with the payoffs to local politicians that I am sure they do, you will have no luck in city court. |

I've never seen so many uparmored security guys all in the same uniform. ha

Is it illegal to posses a firearm in a hotel room in Nevada?
Or is it against policy? That was quite the patch and uniform that SRT guy was wearing. HSLD operator. |

Quoted: In the video, the guy in the suit says you told him about being a firearms manufacturer in the hall when you first left the room. But what brought them to the room in the first place ? View Quote There's still a bit of context missing, why would you even talk guns with these goons? If they asked about guns in the room it's a yes or no answer, never qualify anything or expound on your situation. Just say there's nothing in the room, they have no right to further explanation, saying anything more than that just invites and encounter like that to last longer. |

How'd you like DefCon? I chose not to go this year because of the mask mandate (and after 10 years of it I was burnt out on Vegas), but I definitely missed the villages and have some fomo for some of the badges I saw on twitter lol

I don't know if he would cover it (non-cops) but you should reach out to the Lackluster Channel on YouTube.
I'm glad you were articulate with your words on where they could go and what they could do. |

I've never had much reason to want to be in Vegas, but this new anti-gun gestapo business has pretty much guaranteed that my last trip will also be my only.
Lets all be honest with ourselves, it is little more than a shitty tourist trap in the desert run by the mob to fleece the citizens of SoCal. |
