1991, with a borrowed 911.  Surgeon who worked with my parent loaned it to me for my graduation present.  I’ve wanted one since I was five years old…I plan on shopping for one in four more years after my son completes his studies at UT.

Just came back from Buttonwillow yesterday watching 3 or 4 really nice GT3 Rs running laps around the 2min mark.   Hoping to get to run passenger in a GT3RS that has been sub 1:50.

There is so many. Probably near the top would be a 1969 boss 429 Mustang. Black of course.

Not my dream car, but kinda cool.

My uncle has one of these, fully restored, that he takes to shows around the country.

He gave me a ride in it a few years ago.

I'm not much into the 64-65's but I do love the 66-67's. If I ever have the money to build/buy my dream retro-mod/pro touring car, it would be a 66-67 Fairlane if its not a 1st gen Mustang

I did a World 400 Block with 350 mains, bored .060 over with a large journal (350) lightened and knife edged forged 327 crank.
That was a bad bitch that revved to the moon. I used GM Bow tie aluminum heads, forget what the cam specs were as it was custom ground.
I ran Mahle short skirts and 6 and 1/8th rods, all balanced to a tenth of a gram.
Despite that cam, it idled and ran smooth as a Swiss watch and screamed.

The dedicated pressure tester-72 camaro with T10 and 3:73s out back made for quite the fun break in session. I ran a 4 core radiator in it, bypassed the heater core and mounted a junk yard sourced truck radiator with electric cooling fan on a switch under the trunk. For the line lock smoke shows.
It was fun right up until the seat frame bolts snapped when dumping the clutch at 8,000

I carried a jack and cordless impact along with spares and just beat the ever living hell out of it until the rear tires exploded.
Do it all again on another set of firehawks/cooper cobra gts.

If memory serves correct, it was 685hp on a 2bbl worked for prostock class, 715hp with a 750cfm 4bbl. Low 5 something for torque.
Pulled like a freight train from 4500 to 9200. We were allowed either the MSD Rev box or 9 inch fords with 4:56s. "Cheaters" ran strokers. I ran short strokes for a reason... while limited by gearing and/or ignition, it's where you make power that matters most. I don't lift, but if I had to, I wanted all the power immediately available. Less rotating mass, shorter stroke is best. I ran 327s in purestocks. Did a 302 once, if you got caught up with the non driving fucks it was keep it in 2nd on the floor until you could get around them and grab third, you had to carry speed to keep it moving, it just didn't have the same characteristics as a 327 or 350 stock bore or .030 over. It shined if you could start ahead of the by the book/poors/non driving fucks though.


Perks of rural living-Nobody calls cops. No traffic. Lots of back roads to do as you please, and long tubes to glasspacks terminating before the rear tires so environmentalmidgets can hear you hurt Muh environmentz, while breaking in an engine.

In the prostock, that combination of big bore short stroke, it left corners faster and harder than anyone else, even those who ran strokers. It would lift the front left in the corner just like a sportsman/modified open wheeled car. In prostocks we could adjust brake bias, which was awesome for setting up for corners, stab the brake pedal while steering hard left and moderately on the gas, front left dives, lift off the brake and mash the gas to the floor board simultaneously, ass end goes to the right, then crank the wheels hard right on the high side and pass everyone that is running down low on their brakes/coasting.

That'll happen when it revs fast as fuck. You could literally snap the throttle to 8k and it return to idle in the blink of an eye, and when leaving corners it's pulling hard. Someone with piss poor chassis set up plows up to the line you're running, if you have to lift you can get back on it and still be in a 2 stroke like powerband.

Florida needs more 1/2 mile steep banked dirt tracks.
But noooooo.... we need more golf courses and limp wristed yuppie filled hoas that shut ranges down because piss poor insulated mcmansions.

For lols I put that engine in a 83 K20 with an 8ft fisher plow. I could do 60, plow down, 4hi in 3rd gear, with a cloud of snow flying up over the plow and cab. Old clapped out rotten body farm truck that sounded like a nascar plowing snow. thirsty on C12 though

It was quite effective for pissing cityiots off that had pussy ears.
Hooker inch and 7/8ths long tubes to 2 inch reducers to 2 inch x 12 long glasspacks for maximum rasp.

67 with 427.

Everyone that's a ford fan loves for some reason, the thunderbird and Fox bodies. The Lincolns were leaps and bounds ahead of their time and marketed to the wrong demographic... think 40+ year old women in the 90s... that's who mainly drove them.

If they'd have thrown a 5 or 6 speed stick in them... mustang sales would have died.

Here's something that hauls ass and actually handles-Lincoln Mark 8.
I almost bought one when I was in highschool. That fucker cornered like a rocket sled on rails. It was a mint green with tan interior and had a pretty decent stereo, I think it had an Alpine system with an amp under the rear deck. It had a Sunroof too. Old lady owned it. 38k miles on it. $6k.

I built a lifted K5 blazer instead.
Just as well. I'd have had a shit load of tickets with that thing.
