I just saw on the local news that maybe our Senator from Rhode Island Lincoln Chafee is going to switch sides and go Democrat. I missed the first few seconds of the newscast though. Not really much of a loss really since he always votes anti gun anyway. Shouldn't there be a new election then since I did not vote for a Democrat. I hated to vote for him but at least he was a Republican and we needed to keep control of the Senate.

If/when Jeffers bails out, it won't make a difference any longer.  Until then, though, it still would.

Nope, you were voting for a person, not a party.  You might want to remember that next time you get a chance to vote for a decent, honest, gun-rights-supporting Libertarian instead of two sleazy Republicrat weasels. . . . [%(]

Got to love politicians with their fingers in the wind.

Same thing happened in 1994 after the Republicans' sweeping wins; lots of Democratic senators and congressmen decided to switch parties.

the problem is that this will upset the already delicate majority the republicans have in the senate. It will take it to 50/50 now I believe in stead of 51/49 or somesuch. Anyone have exact figures?

Woo hoo!

When mccain goes that will make the hat trick!

The republicans don't even have to switch parties in kalifornia and new york in those states they are just one big happy socialist family.

Why do you people keep voting for these people when you know they are commies? If hillary switches the D to an R after her name, I bet you all will go ape shit in support of her presidential run.

As far as I am concerned MUCKCAIN has already
gone.

day I join the silent majority.
