All the analytics in the world doesn't account for any given Sunday, including week 17

The Bengals will have to play their best game of the season, the Chiefs at Arrowhead is the toughest game in the league.

I’m excited for next weekend.  While teams I root for have all been knocked out of competition, none of the teams I hate are in the running either.  So I can just enjoy what are hopefully quality games.

My team is long gone, so just hoping for some good games this weekend.

I do think the Bills Chiefs game was the Superbowl and full expect Mahomes and co to win it all.

It's easily the best QB game I've ever seen.

Then there's this:

For being a team that was "favored" to win, it sure looks like just about everyone was betting against the Chiefs.

I hope Burrow buries the Chiefs next week. If not, Id love to see Donald, Miller and Floyd feast on Mahomes in the SB

Donald, Miller and Floyd look to be a big issue for pretty much any QB.   On paper I think the SB is going to be the Rams vs. whoever wins the AFC, but the 49'ers have been the Rams kryptonite, so who knows.

GB puts the special in special teams.

FWIW though, a FG kick off isn't the worst idea. Not sure it fits the spirit of the game, but it'd be fun to watch.

Like I said to HK, the price will continue to fluctuate. And it's not like OBJ is a rookie putting his first paycheck into BTC, the dude already has millions of dollars and should have more conventional investments as well.

A $750k investment should be a decently safe gamble for him. Too many big businesses have gotten into BTC for it to completely crash.

Old school vs today though...

Guy goes down, hits his head/gets injured by a helmet or shoulder pad, sues player because player was not security and wasn't properly trained as security, etc.

Not saying it's right, I'd love to see Aaron Donald go full tilt on some schmuck running across the field, just saying I'm surprised they aren't told to stay the fuck away for the teams and their own good.

No worries.  That was probably the 2nd worst way to lose a postseason game I’ve ever seen behind only 28-3.  The Bills’ coaching after the TD with 13 seconds left was mind boggling.  I think we can all afford you some leeway after having to suffer through that.

I was going to say some diplomatic things when I rejoined the thread last night, but decided against it when I saw the shitty posts.

Here's the thing:

1) Josh Allen has proven he's THAT guy. It's not even debatable, and I'll be very surprised if he doesn't bring a Lombardi to Buffalo at some point.

2) That was truly a game of inches. Both Reid and McDermott made major mistakes. Butker missed those kicks. Rousseau almost got Mahomes on the pass to Kelce during the 13 second drive. The coin flip happened. Etc. This game very easily could have gone either way with a slight tweak to any of those moments and then some.

3) That was one of the very best games I've ever seen, and it was certainly the best QB game I've ever seen. It was a cleaner, more professional version of the Chiefs vs Rams shootout in 2018. It's easier to smile about a loss when it's a regular season game, but try not to let the playoff elimination overshadow the show your team gave every football fan in America.

4) Don't forget to enjoy the ride. Your team was crap for a long time, and these are the good years. Don't wait for Allen and McDermott to hoist the Lombardi before you remember this is supposed to be fun.

Calling it a "blip" understates things, but I don't think the narrative that the game was over at the coin flip is really fair, either.

So McCarthy would do something arguably smart? I don't know about that, but McCarthy does have more Super Bowl wins with Rodgers than any other coach so he must be doing something right.

It’s very difficult to have sustained success with the salary cap and no team loyalty any more.  What the Chiefs have already done is a good enough run after my 35 years of suffering as a fan to make me happy.  I think they e got this chance and maybe one more year in this window of opportunity.

I know exactly what it’s like to lose like the bills did last night, it happened to us a few years ago.  We watched the best offense in the league sit in the bench while the patriots ran it over and over and scored a TD on the first possession of OT.

We still haven’t seen Mahomes with a high level defense like some of those Brady had or seen him with a great RB since Hunt decided to kick a woman while she was down.

Mahomes contract is fairly team friendly for an elite QB so maybe they rebuild and he gets another window later in his career as well.

3-4 Super Bowls over his career would rank him amongst the all time greats, but 7 is simply an amazing accomplishment and I doubt he plays to 45 like Brady.

There are also several great young QB’s to split championships with over the next several years..Burrow and Allen obviously among a few other great young ones.  Their rookie contracts will end and it will limit their ability to put a team around them so their window is now also.

Bengals are a hell of a good young team should be a great game and I’m not counting out the Rams to possibly win it all this year.  It says a lot about that 49ers roster to do what they’ve done despite how poorly Jimmie has played at QB.

He won’t.  No one ever will.

No worries.  That was probably the 2nd worst way to lose a postseason game I’ve ever seen behind only 28-3.  The Bills’ coaching after the TD with 13 seconds left was mind boggling.  I think we can all afford you some leeway after having to suffer through that.

I honestly hope Mahomes doesn't turn into Brady. I'd like to see some competition.

And I apologize for being a twat last night.

I think the talking heads are beating that drum a little too loudly.

Yes, kicking a touchback was bad, but it was a ~1% swing in the game.

That leaves Buffalo's defensive alignment before the pass to Kelce as the next big talking point.

Mahomes's audible on that play, loud and clear, was "Do it, Kelc! Do it! Do it! Do it, Kelc!"

Buffalo's defensive players should have maybe taken a hint or something.

Here's the explanation from Mahomes and Kelce:

Coaching influenced the outcome, but it certainly did not determine the outcome.

That 2019 game was heartbreaking, but it wasn't nearly as heartbreaking as the game last night, IMO.

The Bills scored a go ahead TD on 4th and 13 with 1:54 left.

The Bills' #1 defense blew the lead.

The Bills scored a go ahead TD with 13 seconds left.

The Bills' #1 defense blew the lead forcing OT.

The Bills' #1 defense then allowed the Chiefs to go 75 yards on 8 plays for the walk off TD.

1%?

Yeah, I'm not buying that. Have a kickoff to about the 10 yard line that forces the Chiefs to return it.  That would burn about 5 seconds (maybe more) leaving Mahomes with about 8 seconds.  That doesn't guarantee a win, but the Chiefs would not have been able to run the same plays that they did.

And that doesn't even take into account the Bills seemingly protecting the sidelines even though there was only 13 seconds left and the Chiefs had 2 or 3 timeouts.

I like how everything was what the Bills allowed them to do lol.  Hindsight is 20/20 it’s easy to blame coaching or errors after the fact, but the Chiefs made the plays when needed to win the game.

Trust me I’ve lurked her a long time.  I know the hate for the chiefs and the trash talking that was done prior to this.  I’m not sorry for enjoying this moment.  I waited a long time for my first Super Bowl win and I remember the Bills knocking out Montana and beating us.  The bills will get their shot again, but for now I’m enjoying the moment.  Good luck to the bengals I expect another great game next week. I’m not a participation trophy generation kid so if they win I’ll make no excuses will not blame the refs or coaching I will congratulate their fans and enjoy the Super Bowl no matter who is in it.

Ok I’ll go back to lurking again lol

Fuck the Browns.
Been a fan all my life but fed up.
There's something wrong with the Browns.
I'm glad OBJ is doing great in LA.
Rooting for the Rams and Bengals.

I wonder if they changed the OT rules so that each team had the ball we'd see some teams choosing to kickoff so that they'd know what they had to have to win/extend the game.

If they made a TD like a FG in OT I think that is certainly an option teams would take. Either way, they'd need to make a stop and a score.

Our defense was definitely subpar last night. I remember a few times watching and yelling at the tv because they wouldn't commit to a tackle.
