Personally,
I will hide my unregistered guns first (bought many years ago).  Then I think I will claim that the others were destroyed in a fire/flood and hacked up and thrown away.  They can't prove I have anything.

What will you do?

I never keep all my weapons in the same place.  Simple as that.

If they come for my weapons, and I'm assuming that I am the first fellow whose weapons are being confiscated, I will surrender whatever weapons I have at my house.

After that, they will never find another weapon that I own.

If I'm not the first fellow whose home is searched for weapons, and I hear that they are coming to people's homes to confiscate weapons, then I'll simply move the weapons from my home, leaving only a 'skeleton crew' of a shotgun and pistol.

No need for another WACO, yet!

Firepower,
I think you are missing the point. I believe the point Sigman is trying to make is (if I may) that it is not just a loss of your firearms but a loss of your Constitutional rights. If you choose to hide your weapons and allow the gov.'t to strip away your rights, where will the line be drawn. At what point would you fight for the rights guarenteed you by the Constitution?
I am not here to advocate violence but I believe that everyone will fight. Fight for your life, your family, possibly even your rights.  The question is will you fight in time? In conjunction with your contigency plans, what part have you played in the lobbying for less restrictive gun laws.  Or the strict interpretation and adherence to the Constitution? Or support the organizations that pursue these goals? Not busting your balls, just asking a question to everyone.
We should be standing and screaming at the top of our lungs long before it comes to the gov't taking your guns.

Very depressing. If it ever comes to the point where the government is going door to door and confiscating guns, then our republic is truly lost. Think about it. Federal agents, with local police and possible military back-up, going up and down streets, throughout America, searching and confiscating. I know for me that that America is one I would not willingly live in.

If you choose to bury your guns don't use a metal container, they rust very fast. Plastic trash cans leak water. The best method i've seen is taking an oil drum and thickly covering it with roofing pitch so it wont' rust. Oil up your guns, seal the ammo and mags and bury it deep. Wait....do you still have your guns? No, not really. You owned them, the gov banned them, you hid them, now when do you get to shoot them? It also kinda takes away the home-defense plan. Die on your feet for honesty, or live on your knees for conformity?

I once had a sure fire plan.  I had Clinton and Gore signs in my yard.  I signs like this is a gunfree house.  My plan was working perfectly until one day my house was broken into and had to pull out the hardware (Assault rifle with beta mag).  The moral of this story is The  criminals SUED me for false advertising.

Don't get me wrong, I love to shoot and enjoy having my guns, but I would not die for them. I'll just stand in line and hand them in with the 90% of the other gun owners who are going to be doing the same. After all it's just a "right" now, and after the Constitution is rewritten by the historical revisionists and re-drafted it won't be a viable item to own. (pleas note this is written TIC)

Bad thing is if you bought these guns at a gun
shop then they know you still have them. They may drop buy and asked for them. Well my idea
is if you can build your own guns then they cannot really take your guns away. I would if a confiscation did take place first they you have all ffl's release there book's then get the easy gun's first, then get a list of gun nuts together; I mean there are about a million of us right this would be difficult at best.

I once read it put like this:

If a bureaucrat, or a soldier sent by a bureaucrat, comes to knock down your door and confiscate your firearms-- kill him. The disarmament of law-abiding citizens is the required precursor to genocide.

That's some tight, unassailable language there. Not a wherefore in the place.

That's what King George thought too.  I would imagine that LEO's would be allowed to keep their personal weapons at home- hmmmm.   I see a few things happening in that case, one of which will be a swarm of new police officers [;)], and bunch of dead loyalist cops and gov't thugs, and probably Civil War II.

I'd hand them a big pile of ground up aluminum (possibly from a ground up post ban receiver)and tell them I destroyed my M16 receiver because if I can't have it, the government sure as hell wasn't going to get it.

Meanwhile, the real receiver (assembeled and ready to use) would be stored somewhere "safe".

If it happens in CA, and they follow their usual pattern, they will refuse to renew your driver's license until all weapons are accounted for. Loss of your driver's license in this state is akin to the loss of your job. Sure, you can drive without it, but after the 3rd or 4th time you're caught, you can do a fairly long jail sentence. I suppose the best thing to do is that situation is to move (if not sooner).

In any case, I see no benefit in announcing what I will do. :)

They knock, I open door.
They say they want to confiscate my guns.
I tell them to leave, and close the door.

Days later, similar scenario.
I close door, they open it and enter house.
I tell them to leave again.
They refuse, and storm my house in search.
I take one out by hand, and point readied firearm at the other(s).
I state they are to leave now, they try to attack me.
I shoot, claiming assault, robbery, and maybe ever attempted murder.

Courts claim they were gov't employees, and had all right to enter the house.
I state I never saw their badges/identification.
They state they are supposed to show them to you before entering.
I state I didn't give them the opportunity to show any ID, because I closed the door.  When the entered the house, they still did not show proper ID.  Thus, they were shot for burglary/breaking - entering/assault/etc.
I win in court.

The "I win" scenario will probably never happen, but being as apathetic as I am, I'm not one to really care.

Bear in mind, before they can "come for your guns" they will have to go through the legislative process as California has with their "assault weapons ban".  So there we have a perfect example.  Apparently lots of people are waiting for the California authorities to come take them, because a whole bunch of people failed to registers and also failed to turn them in.

It will take quite a while before the "door-to-door confiscation" point is reality.  The frog needs to be heated some more.

He may be joking, but I would make a stand in my jurisdiction.  I patrol in Central Ark, and the veteran of several gunfights, and would stand firm in defense of my citizens' right to property-period.

They can fire me if they want, and then I will just go underground like everyone else I guess.

OK Hows this...

The president signed the UN Safety and Protection bill today.  This is the bill that the Americans have been fighting for 8 years.  The bill makes it illegal to own, possess, or transfer any firearm, ammunition, or reloading component without first obtaining proper licenses from the FBI and local UN officer.  There is a 30-day grace period to register your firearms and ammunition inventories to the proper UN official at your local law enforcement agency.

Five years later…

-"All right Mr. Johnson, we've been through this several times before, we know you have an unregistered AR-15 serial number xxxxxx-xxx.  It was purchased by you for $674.98 on 5/21/01 in Enterprise Arms Sporting Goods Store.  If you don't turn it in you can be arrested and your house, car, and everything else you own will be possessed. If you turn in the weapon now you will only be fined $2,000."

-"I'm sorry but I sold that at a gun show prior to the law change."

-"Ok Mr. Johnson you may leave now."

-"Haw!  I showed Them! If they want my gun they can come and get it…lead first!"

-"Hey John, its Mike over in the Reclamation Dept.…yea that Mr. Johnson from Tulsa I was talking to you about last week…yea, lets do an "out of date car registration" on him.  Yea…Tuesday of next week should be fine.  I'll tell my supervisor to have the team enter his house when he is at your office arguing about his car registration…"

Well, first of all they won't have to prove anything - they'll show up at your door with a list of guns registered to your name (by 4473s they got from gun dealers, and by private citizens you bought them from) and unless you produce either each and every gun on that list or notarized proof of its legal disposition, you and your family will be going to jail. Evidence will be manufactured to back up their trumped-up charges against you (child porn, drugs, etc) and your family members, friends, and co-workers will be threatened with prison if they don't testify against (read: lie about) you. If they really want your guns, they're not going to let you go because you say "sorry, I sold all mine."

Well, let's assume that you can outfox the gun grabbers and keep your collection. Now, what are you going to do with it? Go to the range? There ain't no more ranges. Go out in the back 40 and surreptitiously bust a few caps and worry about the JBT's flying around with their sound detectors on [that's actually not so far fetched...some city's are planning/implementing sound detectors posted on telephone poles around the city that will pinpoint the sound of a gunshot to within a block or two]. So, what are you going to do, just pull your guns out of a hole in the ground once a year and reminisce about the "good old days"?
