Quoted: Tacoma's City Council didn't listen and passed the fees. Council Member Ryan Mello complained, "I think it is fundamentally unfair for all of us who are non-gun users to bare all of the burden of gun violence in our community." View Quote So, if they feel that way, does this not also stand true? "I think it is fundamentally unfair for all of us who are non-DRUG users to bare all of the burden of DRUG VIOLENCE AND MEDICAL ISSUES in our community." |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: ...was sold by officials to the public as a windfall, predicted to generate an extra $30,000 a year... That's a huge loss for Tacoma whose council members were looking for $30,000 in extra taxes. If my google-fu is functioning, it looks like the annual budget for the City of Tacoma, WA for 2019-2020 was $3.5 BILLION. I don't understand how $30K can be a windfall or a huge loss. It seems like it would be a rounding error at best. https://cms.cityoftacoma.org/finance/budget/2019-2020/2019-2020%20Adopted%20Budget%20Book.pdf It would have been $30k in extra (aka on top of what they already pay) taxes, now they get none from Aero. For a city with a budget of $3.5 BILLION, $30K in extra taxes hardly seems like a windfall or a huge loss for them. It is literally 0.00086% of their budget. If you had an annual salary of $200,000 and got a bonus of $1.71 (0.00086%), would you consider that a windfall? If your $200,000 annual salary was cut by the same $1.71 (0.00086%), would you consider it a huge loss? Besides, they should have a rainy day or general fund to cover minor, unexpected shortfalls or as a place to store unexpected overages until the next budget cycle. |

The tax increase, ..., was sold by officials to the public as a windfall, predicted to generate an extra $30,000 a year to "provide public benefit to residents of Tacoma related to gun violence" View Quote A. Good for Aero B. What a load of bullshit. $30,000 is a windfall , it's a piss in the ocean compared to the city budget. If they let the gangbangers exsanguinate instead of paying for the ER they could save a hell of a lot more than that. And prevent a lot of future shootings. Not to mention cutting Narcan out of the budget. |

Doesn't like the politics in Tacoma, which is taking over Washington state.
Builds new facility in Washington state. Not very insightful on predicting the future, but it's their company. For the record, I like AP products, I just think this is a bad move. |

Take that 30k and add all of the sales tax lost from the businesses that have lost massive amounts of revenue or gone completely out of business (sales and property taxes) due to covid to get a better picture of the current tax intake of Tacoma. Cities, states, and even the fedgov will feel the repercussions from this very soon. The fedgov will continue to print themselves out of their problem, but it may be different for states and cities. Their money will be more finite and losses will show, even with bailouts. |

So now take a look at how much Aero was paying. They took a stance and stuck with it, would you rather they just, comply? Money talks and bullshit walks and Aero took their money and business elsewhere. Doesn’t matter if it is $30k extra or a dollar extra, it was principle and Aero was not going to just do what others do about talking a big game and then in the end doing nothing about it. |

Tacoma expected a windfall of $30,000. At $25 per firearm, thats only 1,200 guns.
I think the math here is way off. But commies arent known for their math skills. |

PTR moved out of Connecticut and to SC after all the fallout from the Sandy Hook shooting. But mention PTR around HK Fanbois and there is no support for a company that stood their ground. it's the main reason I went PTR and not one of the imports.

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Last week it was boycott Aero for moving, this week it’s buy Aero I was just laughing at that. Errbody was pissed because they said "diversity". Yup, it’s all in how the story is spun. The masses (even on here) are easily swayed to one side or the other based on how the story is told, despite the fact that it’s the same story at the core just spun positively or negatively. This is how the media controls people by getting them hung up or spun up on a detail rather than the core of the issue. |
