I started wearing the 5.11 Defender Flex straight jeans. They have an extra pocket above the back pocket where I carry a 15 round mag for my 365 XL. Keeps the mag separate from other BS that accumulates in my front pocket throughout the day. They are a little pricey but you can usually catch 15 or 20 percent sales online. Jeans are damn comfortable too.

Used to carry an extra 15 or 17 round mag in my front pocket.
Now I carry two 17 round reloads in pouches on my off hand side. 50 rounds for my main and my bug has 13 as well. I bring enough to party. |

Quoted: I considered the 15 rounder for my 365, but I didn’t care much for the look. Plus I normally pocket carry weak side in cargo shorts. I know that’s not ideal but that’s the way I do it. It seems like the 15 rounder would hang up when drawing from the pocket. View Quote I found that to be the case. The 15 grabs the pocket on the way out. The 12 has worked fine in my pockets with a Desantis. I do not wear jeans. I wear Carhart work pants that have excellent sized pockets made of very tough material. |
|
I carry 1 17+2 mag in my left pocket. I wear cargo shorts and pants but they suck for anything with any kind of mass. Mag holder(s) isn't convenient enough.

I heard somewhere that there are only two situations where you can carry too much ammunition.
When you are swimming, or if you are on fire. |

Quoted: I have been running my m&p9 the same way. 41 total rounds is decent firepower. Just went to St. Louis and I did add the second spare mag to be safe. Plus a s&w 442 for a backup. View Quote Now why would feel the need to add reserve ammo when coming to St Louis? This is a peaceful place. |

I just carry my gun in my hand, and spare mag in my teeth these days.... Most folks are more upset that Im not wearing a mask than anything...

When I carry my XD-S I carry an extra mag in a carrier on my left side.

Coin pocket of jeans fits a mag perfect.
My 5.11 jeans I put it in the rear mag pocket |

Hi cap gun I carry one spare.
Single stack I carry two. I'm simple so I use magazine carriers on the belt on my pants. |

I OC a Polymer80 PF940v2 in a kydex paddle holster, with two spare mags (mags stay concealed under jacket or hoodie) in a kydex OWB holder. I've never pocket-carried.
The other guys have it right: if you pocket-carry, you would probably be best-served by a magazine clipped to your pocket. |

Quoted: Those of you that EDC everyday, do you also EDC an extra mag? If so, how do you police the extra mag while carrying? What about a simple pocket type pistol like a Sig 365 in a DeSantis soft tuck? I bought the 12 round mag for my standard 365 and it vastly improved the feel of the pistol. I no longer feel the need to run out and buy the XL. It also got me thinking about carrying an extra mag for some reason. For someone that uses a simple pocket holster, how do you maintain an extra mag? Separate pocket? View Quote If at all possible, spare is carried in a Kytex carrier on my weak side; it's how I train and these minimalist carriers work well for me. I've also carried BlueForceGear's mag pouches as they're pretty slim. At worse, I'll carry in a back pocket. Highly recommend you carry a spare magazine. If you shoot enough, you'll learn the only way to keep your gun in the fight with an FTF/FTE is often eject and use a reload. For me, it's less about extra ammo and more about not screwing around with a feed or fire-failure issue, popping the mag out, fumbling around to clear, reloading that mag, etc. It's a good habit to carry and practice with that spare magazine. I always carry 1 spare mag for my 43X in an iwb Vedder mag carrier. I put a second spare on if I leave my little po-dunk town.

I put my spare mag in a Leatherman sheath on my weak side. Works great for my M&P shield mag.

I only own one Glock standard capacity magazine and it's in my pistol right now

Yep tried a neo clip thing was annoying just throw it in pocket now.

I have my pistol and 2 extra mags in my backpack all the time. Hardly ever carry the thing

We un-fucked our West Side Story-era knife laws here in TN about 5 years ago now. +4" blades and those dreaded "switchblades" were mostly a no-go. Not anymore. Knives are now more the most part not considered weapons at all, unless you do weapon stuff with them. |

My EDC is either a G19 with 15 round mag and a spare 17 round mag or a G43X with SA 15 round mag and a spare SA 15 round mag. Both spares carried in a neomag. I hardly ever use anything other than a neomag. They are that good.
Today's is the G43X. Taken just now. Attached File Attached File |

The main reason to carry spare mags is to remediate failures.
I recently learned, here in GD, that even Bubbah's trash blasters experience ZERO failures in THOUSANDS of rounds. In defiance of all reason, I carry two spare mags, and a BUG. My job is the exception and, YMMV. |

G43 with +1 extension AIWB. spare mag with +2 extension usually back pocket, sometimes IWB.
Ordered a G48 and bought 4 shield mags though. Doubling my round count with out going much up in footprint appeals to me. |

G43X with a Shield Arms 15-rounder in the pistol. Spare Shield Arms +5 mag in a carrier on my right hip (I'm a lefty). 36 rounds total.

I usually carry a spare mag in a pouch with a flashlight next to it if I'm going to be out past dark.

No problems bending over at all either. Others may not have the same experience and/or opinion of AIWB. Different body types & all... |
