I honestly think this is a CYA move from these banks (at least the domestic ones). I see another bail out in a our near future, and they are just securing ties to the party that will bail them out for poor investing and who cave under policy pressure.

The DOJ and IRS will be going after Trump's bank accounts at some point. If you are a bank you don't want Federal investigators crawling all over your institution. It gives you a bad name, and they could find other things. So they get rid of the accounts.
