Quoted: I've been frugal my whole life, I was brought up not to waste an ounce of food (and got a whupping if I did). Covid has reminded me we could die any time, and right now we're fortunate enough to have a very good family income with very few outgoings (because we can't go anywhere or do anything), so it's a splurge of the money we would usually spend of vacations/fun (roughly 1% of income) that won't leave us with a rapidly depreciating asset. I'm also making sure we're setting the kids up for a good education and start in life and making sure we are set to have a good retirement as well (preferably someone with lots of space, and animals, and few BS laws). Ditching the 10 year old broken down Suburban for a $150k suv ... on a 3 year lease I get it, but I don’t think that I could do it. Makes sense, and it’s probably a sound investment of money if her peer group is anything like the executive suite culture I’ve seen around here, wherein if spouses aren’t keeping up with the Jones’s in that arena, the executive isn’t considered executive suite material for long. |

Quoted: The more bullshit they add to vehicles, the worse drivers get. I keep the collision avoidance turned off on mine. I had it intervene ONCE on the highway in Tennessee. Said FUCK THIS SHIT, and turned it off immediately at highway speed. View Quote I am surprised that someone hasn't started spoofing those collision avoidance things. Send out an EM signal to confuse other cars and make them steer away from you as you drive down the street. |

You're correct, male execs can wear the same suit to everything but she is advised to wear a different very expensive designer outfit to every public event, it's ridiculous. |

Oh, and we have zero kids, too. So, we're basically throwing away that money. But, at least all the kids have fancy iPads and iPad pros. How do I know that? I'm the one getting the busted ones fixed.
