Is this one of those times it’s ok to use the red loctite?

No joke, looks like the surgeon dumped the box of screws in. Broke both ankles while wearing Alpinestars boots. 15 screws total.

Make sure they use red Loctite this time.

The screw doesn't need to to be there after the bones have healed. They'll probably just pull it out. Infection is what I would be worried about. But there is no redness in your picture.

Have pins in my hand, one was starting to get annoying, it was coming out of the bone.

Doc numbed it up, made a small cut, and yanked the bitch out.

I can't wear very many types of boots anymore, but not because the screws have backed out any.  There's a couple that are just in bad spots and rub from the inside.

You probably need to get that looked at.

Screw manufacturer?  Some have proprietary head patterns and you can only use their drivers to remove the screws.  In any case, it is not a Phillips.  It will be a star or hex variant depending on size and manufacturer.

Whatever it is I have it covered. I even have a set of clutch drivers and eaton tri-wing sockets buried somewhere in a toolbox next to a set of Whitworth wrenches

It is getting closer to the surface

Wife had bunion surgery, and while screwing in a bolt they cracked the bone.  Ended up with an external pin sticking out of her foot.  Which our cattle dog pulled out...

Monday first thing:

1) Call to the place that did the work. Depending upon the result, which should be something like an immediate appointment with the surgeon, goto 2

2) Call lawyer, draw up papers for medical malpractice suit. Fax to medical center, wait 30 minutes, goto 1.

Uhhhh... stop that. The last thing you need is for that to break through the skin and get your hardware infected.

Call your ortho and ask for their after-hours on-call doc for the group. Tell them you can see the screw head and offer to send them that video.

I'm not familiar with many of the podiatry sets, but most of the screw heads in our Operating Rooms look like standard Torx bits of various sizes.

Then OP's going to wake up in a padded room.

I had one making its way out of my hand. Dr said because I get violent while coming out of anaesthesia if I'd be ok with him removing it why I was awake, sure thing let's do it.

He gave me a few shots in my hand and then froze the area with a can of compressed air. Didn't even make a incision, just grabbed the head of the nail with a pair of needle nose pliers and pulled that Motherfucker right out of my bone. It was pretty wild to watch.

Just make a small slit, grab a screwdriver and put it back in.

Or take it out, put threadlocker on it, and put it back in.
