Apparently pardoning corrupt Dem politicians and rappers promoting violence against Trump fans was higher on his to do list.

It boggles my mind how--on a forum dedicated to a constitutionally-protected right, mind you--people can have so little understanding of the Constitution and the workings of the government.

Quoted: He's charged by the STATE, not the feds. Trump can only pardon for federal crimes. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Title covers it well. Or am I missing something? He's charged by the STATE, not the feds. Trump can only pardon for federal crimes. When he gets aquitted of the state charges, it's pretty certain that Xiden department of social justice will hit him with some concoction of civil rights charges. A preemptive pardon would have been appropriate and appreciated. |

You DO know the difference between STATE and FEDERAL charges, Right? |

Aside from the state vs federal, getting a pardon also has to be done after conviction I believe. You can't pardon someone for a crime they haven't been convicted of. Jesus Christ guys, ya'll act like you were born knowing everything.

Lol corrupt politicians of color that stole from their constituents were more deserving than a white racist terrorist.
Also I’m not on the up and up about exactly what crimes can be pardoned depending on jurisdictional issues. |

Even if he could, he wouldn’t. Look at the scum who did get pardons and you will understand why.

They think they can impeach a president who is no longer a president so technically anything is possible. The rule of law is what whomever is in power says it is.

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Even if he could it is an admission of guilt and Kyle did nothing wrong. How would it be an admission of guilt to accept a pardon that wasn't requested? United States v. Burdick, 211 F. 492 I googled it, from the Wiki (I know they're not the best source in the world) It is widely believed that this case decided that a pardon carries "an imputation of guilt, acceptance a confession of it". However, whether the acceptance of a pardon constitutes an admission of guilt by the recipient is not clear and the quote mentioned was part of the Court's dictum for this case. [2] Regardless, if I was in Kyle's position, I'd take a pardon even if it meant an admission of guilt....the people who think he's guilty or innocent wouldn't change as a result of it. |
