There is no cure for the common cold.

Coronavirus is a common cold.

No matter how you tell it, it's the truth.

So?

ETA:  Not disagreeing.  Just wondering what point you are making there.

You're willing to risk your life on a "probably"? If "probably" was good enough why weren't we vaccinating last summer when several vaccines had already proven their value?

Three months between shots is probably as good as three weeks.  Since most people's antibodies last at least that long, your body should have a similar reaction to the second shot in both scenarios.  If you try giving the second shot six months later, you probably won't get the same effectiveness.

Yes.  Because the alternative is nothing.  You either get half a vaccine now and half in three months or nothing for three months and then you get two shots 28 days apart.  Why would you prefer not getting a vaccine over getting a single shot that's 50% effective?

People are still showing immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 from exposure to SARS-CoV-1, which was more than 17 years ago. Natural immune responses are far superior to vaccine immune responses. The reinfection rate is unknown, but given the relative inaccuracy of the tests (especially things like PCR) the known "reinfections" are well within the margin of false positives on tests and more than likely within the margins of immunodeficient individuals. In addition, there is no reason to believe that any variant of the virus is more contagious than another. Scientific illiterates (who I am aware dominate the world now) simply take an obvious fact like the current strain is different from the previous strain and use that to claim that it's more contagious. No, it's simply a different genotype, and its ability to spread is no different than any of its 50,000 relatives. It simply happens to be the predominant strain right now.

If the vaccine works, it will prevent transmission. If the vaccine works, it will work against all known variants of SARS-CoV-2. In either case, naturally acquired immunity is guaranteed to be better than vaccine-acquired immunity. By definition a perfect vaccine will be as good as naturally acquired immunity.

Educate yourselves. Not everything online has been censored. Yet.

Let’s just water it down even more and give even more people the shot.  As long as they get a shot.  Any shot, right?  Just think of all the people we could vaccinate!

They are already targeting high risk people for the vaccine.

Most countries are tackling it with age/vulnerability banding and working though the population.

My Mother and father are in their late 70's and get their vaccine Monday and already have appointments for their second jab in a few weeks time.

The UK has already vaccinated 10%of the adult population.

Whether you get the vaccine is up to you, of course but it's worth considering.  While the older and those with underlying conditions are most vulnerable, this disease is having severe impacts on younger people who are in great health and have no underlying conditions.  In the last week our Hospital lost a 27 year old, 36 year old, and 41 year old.  All male, all fit, healthy individuals with no underlying health conditions.

The quicker a country gets this disease under control as far as possible, the quicker they can start economic recovery.  This who get there first will likely have an advantage.
