Quoted: Ahh, gotcha, kind of makes sense. I guess it's a good thing I'm lazy and haven't made one of those cross things yet Edit: for what it's worth, my wife was already pretty judgy when I bought a carrier and ceramics, so keeping it in the bedroom at the ready would only increase the already common eye rolling aimed at me View Quote I'm in your shoes. Mine is nowhere near my bed. I guess that makes me unprepared but I'm also not paranoid. I'm not putting that shit on if something goes bump in the night in my house. The velcro would be loud AF and it would take too long to put on in a daze. Mine is for STHF and I'll see it coming. |

I keep my old carrier on a mannequin that's holding an airsoft gun. On rollers skates so I can roll it into the hall to draw fire.

I sleep ON TOP of my plates....
What if the boogey man who lives under the bed starts shooting upwards through the mattress?? |

The velcro would be loud AF and it would take too long to put on in a daze. Mine is for STHF and I'll see it coming. Pretty much my logic. Bumps in the night are responded to with a pistol, the carrier is more for situations where it's reasonable to expect to draw rifle fire. I figure if I'm taking rifle fire in my own house, I've probably already made several very serious mistakes to lead to said situation |

I have a magnetic hook on the side of my safe that I hang the heavy duty hanger and PC on. Another hook below it has my battle belt.

Upside down and fully open on the floor with the front half closest to the wall.
Every time I hear a weird noise at night I ninja roll off the side of the bed and land on my back right on top of my carrier. I pull the front half over my head and strap in. My rifle is on the floor at my 3 o'clock obviously. I sit up and my ballistic helmet is right there ready. Flip down the NODS and im eating cereal in the dark 30 seconds later. |

I have 3 magazine pouches on the front of mine.
2 of the pouches hold loaded P-Mags, but I fill the third with those little individually wrapped mini peanut butter cups in case I get hungry at night. |

If things get so bad that people are actually shooting at me, I'm not so sure getting hit in the arm or leg isn't going to be just as much a death sentence as getting shot in the chest.

Only correct answer is to wear it at all times. I sleep in mine.

It's down below the clothes, but on top of everything else that's down there. I can get to it quickly, if needed, though. |

It's in the closet 10' from my bed
When I was in Afghanistan we kept them on the wall by the door about 5-10' away. I will be fine, the dogs would go nuts anyway along with the peacocks so I will probably have enough warning. |

only soyboy liberals dont sleep in their plate carriers and own 27 ARs to hand out to the whole neighborhood
bunch of soysheeple in here |

I designed an air powered pre-charged cylinder that flips the carrier up in a rotating fashion. When I stand up out bed it's triggered and it lands on my torso just as my t-shirt is snugged down.

yeah my PC is in my truck. I work in a worse area than I live, so I'm not super worried about needing it in a hurry. Not looking to kit up for a regular break in. Mostly just hide at the top of the stairs and shoot back. Fatal funnel and all that.
PC is for training and if shit gets really bad. Like Post-Katrina, patrol the neighborhood, or probably by the end of this month |
