People moving into NYS who have handguns have a couple of options:
They can surrender the handguns at a law enforcement agency for storage until they get their permit. Problem being that some agencies will declare the guns a nuisance after a year and destroy them.
Given that it takes two years to get a permit for someone moving into the state, that's not a reliable option
They can have the guns put on someone's existing permit that they trust enough to eventually get them back ( big risk, I know ) or
they can store them with a NY  FFL.

I've provided this service to many people moving into the state over the past 27 years. Most of the time its only one or two guns. Often the applicant eventually contacts me and asks me to find a buyer for their guns because they can't stand the application process. This was a bit more of a  handgun collection. That wasn't a problem so much until early 2020 when Cuomo shut down transfers and by April i was playing gun box Tetris in the safe trying to make everything fit. I was still accepting guns during the shut down, and the only thing going out was an occasional law enforcement transfer. Everything else ammo and accessory related was curbside service, with people placing phone and internet orders and getting their stuff at the curb like take out dinner from the local restaurant.

In this case the guy would occasionally come and have visitation with his guns. I would take them out about once a year and oil them and put them back in the safe.

What I think is a crock is a two year wait to get a permit because of an interstate move. Wait a year to have four local character references who've known you a year. Apply, then wait a year.
Imagine if you had to park your car at the state line for two years when you moved from state A to state B.

Anyways, rant off....

I may be a "soft touch", but over the years I've had a loyal group of repeat people who've stuck with me through deployments, divorces, address changes, etc. It wasn't until the Covid hysteria in 2020 that I've really started to have some issues that have made me question why I still do this FFL thing......

Take away people's livelihoods and they might develop new hobbies.

These people are literally too stupid to have any foresight into what those new hobbies might entail.  I used to speak to them daily and they are seriously clueless on cause and effect.

This action of removing and replacing was done punitively over the course of months where a few Reichstag deputies of the former competing parties were allowed to still be part of the parliament and/or cabinet (not the KDP) after the fire. Jobs in the German government/ civil service were given to Nazis and those sympathetic to the Nazi cause.

The universities were purged of 'foreigners' and those not on board with the Nazi ideological policies. The universities were engaging in censoring and eliminating dissenting voices of both students and faculty. Controlling the narrative.

Suppose, just suppose the American right mostly forgot about their guns and took a page out of the French handbook. All you Liberals think the French are so great, right? Well, I confess they have their moments.

Anyway, suppose these 70+ million evil Trump supporters just went on strike, just like the French do. Suppose they stop working and start picketing in any state that doesn't adopt their reforms... the kind of reforms that put gender studies professors out of work among other things. There are certainly a fair number of Liberal tradesmen and Liberal factory workers... But they are still a relatively tiny minority among the working class. And many of the ones that did vote for Biden would turn on you when you start rounding up their friends and families.

Without the workers, power shuts off in the "Blue" areas and so does water. Trucks don't run. Gasoline doesn't flow. Food and medicine gets cut off. Stores close down. The internet goes dark due to routers being shut down. Sure the big tech companies and many of the software developers are liberals, but you will find far fewer liberals among the technicians who maintain all of this stuff. No phones, no lights, no motorcars, and you don't even have that many coconuts to eat. Good luck with those Chaz gardens.

You can call in the military to break up the strike... but you are probably looking at a good 75% of the military being extremely sympathetic to the strikers. And while they could break up picket lines manned by unarmed strikers, they couldn't really force people back to work... besides, do you know how much in the way of food, parts, and other logistical supplies it takes to keep a military in the field? Where do they get all of that stuff? From companies owned by Conservatives and made by Conservative workers.

Now, most Conservatives don't place a lot of faith in politics. So when the Left steals an election we might get pissed, but its sort of what we expect. It pisses a lot of people off but most Conservatives aren't surprised and just plan on keeping their heads down and weathering the storm. However, when you start rounding people up for political reasons... Well, let's just say I have outlined one way that the Right could purge the country of the Left once and for all without firing a shot or breaking any laws. All it would take is for the Right to decide to live on all of that stored food they have stockpiled for two or three months and live like they were camping for a bit... And Conservatives like camping.

Could the Left do the same thing? Call a national strike? Sure they could and then who would collect the government taxes? Who would teach gender studies classes? Who would lie about us in the media? Who would mug us when we go into cities? Who would do all that performance art? Who would design all those fashions? Yea, I don't think the Left would be very missed in a strike.
