Orion, hands down.

Next would be Master of Puppets and Whiplash. I don't really like any Metallica after Cliff, which is odd, since I loved Flotsam and Jetsam, so you'd think Jason coming on would be good.

I do like Garage ReRe, ALOT, but that's my punk and crossover appreciation, so basically I like raw, hungry, and angry Metallica before Bob Rock polished the grime, sincerity and power off of them. With ...and Justice for all being mediocre, but understandable with all the transition going on.

You bet.  A giant fart, followed by a big splash, would sound better than Metallica.

That's because they are awesome and reasonable guys live to hear why other guys like certain aspects of things they also like.

The least favored single on that album. I'll totally hear that argument. Great song.

Edit: 80s born child detected who came into Metallica in middle school.

(I'm also an 80s child, just had some buddies with brothers so I got into the earlier stuff as well. Load was awesome with my buddies in the 90s

Cliff Burton's bass work in Orion grabs you by the nuts and never lets go.  He's one of my favorite musicians of all time.

I love this... they turn the bass WAY up.

I'll go to my grave liking Megadeth better than Metallica.

Don't get me wrong, I love Metallica, but they are the weakest of the Big Four to me.

I don't know if I can answer that. There are so many!

Sanitarium is up there. One is up there, too. Unforgiven. The whole black album, really. Master of puppets.

Yeah, I can't pick a favorite.

Megadeth is solid.  I skipped my sister's high school graduation to see them at the Phantasy Theater on the Peace Sells tour, when I was 16.  Yeah, I got in a little bit of trouble.

I don't disagree, but what album was Dave Mustaine the singer on? And Rust in Peace is the best metal album of all time.

Their cover of “Stone cold crazy” was pretty good. I used to have the box set of Metallica’s “Live Shit”, complete with VHS tapes AND cds. Guess I still have it somewhere. It was pretty bad-ass on my rear projection tv and Kenwood sound system back in the day.

Harvester of Sorrow.

So many good choices but this would be my pick at the moment.

Answer could change on any given day depending on my mood.

ETA: Leper Messiah has to be way up there too.
