Quoted: That tiny white dot up and just to the left of the "S" in Sandpoint isn't too very far from Casa D'Osprey. Just understand...wages suck, there is almost no industry but house building, food and gas are expensive and anything close to the lake or in-town starts at about $350K for 1,500 sq feet on a quarter acre. On the lake takes millions. Further out is much cheaper, but shit further out gets wild, fast. The work situation in CDA is much better, but you lose the small town thing and end up in a rapidly expanding city of 45,000+. The rich-and-shameless pour in about June, and pour right back out at the beginning of September. Cali's that move here "permanently" don't tend to stay long. Just make damn sure you want "wild" before you make the commitment. The attrition rate from the first and second winter is high. But...damn, it is beautiful. Quoted: Looked into Boise, but it seems like that place is going through a booming nut roll. We are looking to get 20+ acres of leave me alone land without being in the ultra-boonies. The only flights out of TF is Delta 3x a day going to Salt Lake City, they you can go to where you want from there. Somewhere on 84 looks attractive, as you know when it snows, it will be groomed. Little things like that are nice creature-features. View Quote The state overall does a great job at snow removal on the roads they maintain. Inside the bigger cities it can become a cluster at times, but most of the main roads are maintained daily. In the panhandle you can get to Spokane for air travel very quickly, and they have great hospitals. CDA has a solid hospital as well, but not as many specialists. Better get that land quick though. Soon there wont be many 20+ acre plots left once CA developers are done with it. There was just a huge tract in southern Bonners that was zoned 20 minimum ag, and developers got the county to rezone it to 5 acre residential overnight, even after tons of protests from local land owners. People dont want the rezoning, but its coming none the less. |

In my biased opinion Oklahoma has the best political climate but the economics of the state are very tied to oil/gas as a whole and therefore in the next few years the state will probably be hurting under the biden/kamala administration. Had the pleasure of meeting BTCCW a few weeks ago and corresponded with Osprey61 earlier in the year. I firmly believe our area is one of the last best places. Great people, great country. I have met with Sheriff Wheeler a few times, I can attest that he's a good man who believes in and abides by the constitution and is really the embodiment of what a Sheriff should be and what all law enforcement needs to be. As to the original post I'd look at Bonner and Boundary counties in ID, NorthWestern MT, WY and SD. Bonner county property is skyrocketing and traffic is way more than what it was when I moved here several years ago . I think Boundary is still a little cheaper and quieter. |

The federal infringements will be coming fast and furious, and the first time SCOTUS blocks them, SCOTUS will get "fixed" with 2 or 3 young radical additions. NO place will be unscathed.
That said, I did some pretty detailed research and ranking a few weeks ago while thinking about leaving New Yorkistan. This is based on my particular priorities, but the list is sound overall IMHO. I ranked by voter base ("redness"), growth of the red voter base, whether the state was surrounded by mostly red states (the bleed-over effect), economy (current + growth forecast), climate, cost of living, gun rights (least restrictive ranked better), etc. I weighted the voter base / voter base growth / gun rights pretty high. Economy and cost of living weighted a little lower. Climate and crime weighted lowest (but still significant). Keep in mind now that the commies are in and salivating at destroying the energy sector, the economic outlook in the Dakotas and West Virginia is probably significantly lower. I'm gravitating towards Oklahoma, maybe a rural spot outside of Tulsa, but this is still a ways out for me as I have obligations here still. One thing against the southern plains is the proximity to Mexico - the upcoming massive influx of illegals + amnesty is going to depress the economies there first, and cause voting shifts to purple or blue.

View Quote Jesus. Knock off the post whoring, will you? I did a similar analysis a while back. I am largely in agreement with your results, except for a few states. West Virginia--It's too well surrounded by blue states, and is prime for takeover by liberals. People will want to move out of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Pennsylvania but not have to commute too far. West Virginia is a really attractive option for them. Tennessee--Nashville is growing too fast for my liking. The state is very red, but it was slightly less red in 2020 than it was in 2016--Donald Trump got a very slightly lower percentage of the vote in 2020, and Biden picked up ground from where Clinton was. Montana--While it's an extremely reliable state for Republicans in presidential elections, Montana sends Democrats to statewide office and the Senate too often. Texas--Texas is on the verge of becoming a purple state. North Carolina--North Carolina almost went blue in 2020. Biden received two percentage points more than Clinton got. Trump got less support (both times) than Romney. And North Carolina went for Obama in 2008. |

Quoted: Florida for the next couple of years. After that South Dakota or Tennessee. View Quote A third of the country has constitutional carry I can't see why anybody would say states that aren't even in that list would be the best. Florida and Tennessee both require permit to carry, you can't even open carry without a permit in those States. There is much better. |
