I'm so sorry that that happened to you. Dogs are really wonderful and innocent little friends. I've been through that before. I had to bury my little dog in 2002 and it still bothers me, but it will get easier in time.

I don't have a dog anymore but I'll give my tabby cat a big hug.

Mine left a warm calm day in October. We had a walk in the field first, he smelled all the things he loved to smell. Damn it.

I feel for you OP. My golden is four now and I can't help but think how worthless my life will be with out him when it's his time.

Goldens do something to you that I've never felt with any other animal.

My oldest pup was not feeling well today. Last time he acted like this it required surgery (kidney stones caused him to stop drinking enough water - constipation was the symptom). I hand fed him his dog with canned pumpkin food a few minutes ago - hopefully he will be free later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I've done this 3 times in 5 years. Current dogs are 3 and 5, everyday I think about how little time we actually get with them.

Sorry to hear that OP. I just put down my Neapolitan Mastiff a couple weeks ago. It was rough. The time we spend with our dogs is too short.

Damn, that was a fast progression. Way too fast. So sorry for your loss.

My 5 year-old cat was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago. Had surgery to remove the tumor. Found out a couple of days ago the cancer came back. I'm not going to put her through another surgery, especially since it would involve amputation this time.

Not trying to hijack your thread - just commiserate. Putting a beloved animal down is a hard thing that we must do when they are in pain with no realistic chance of getting better.

It's really hard knowing that cancer is growing inside and will take her soon. I'll euthanize her, of course, when the time comes. She gets lots of hugs as her time runs out.

went thru this a month ago. Prior to my dog getting sick i never would have truly understood, now i get it man.

Sorry for your loss, im not sure i would wish such a thing on my worst enemy. Losing a best friend leaves ya empty inside for sure.
