Quoted: As an owner of both. 9mm AR runs circles around MP5, fucks its bitch, shits all in its bed, raids the fridge and drinks its beer. AR; $400 vs $1800 and up AR; $12 magazines vs $60 AR; Feed ramp and less picky about projectile shape AR; Last round bolt hold open AR; Controls are reachable and not designed around mutant hands AR: Easily swap bbl lengths AR; Far easier to accessorize AR; No retarded mount needed for optics AR; lower can host other calibers (mine has Colt style mag blocks) MP5: Much smoother shooting MP5; looks cool View Quote Preach it brother...amen! |

You're not my supervisor...
I'll do whatever the hell I want! I have AR's in .22LR, 9mm, .300BLK, 5.56 and .308. Guess that makes me some type of crazy penta-sexual eh? Whatever...I don't care...it's what all the cool kids are doing these days anyway. |

Quoted: If you want an AR, get it in a rifle caliber. If you want a sub-gun. Buy an HK MP5 or SP5. View Quote i agree. I bought one after shooting the MPX but it's not nearly as good. Fine as a can blaster and paper shredder, but not as a serious combat weapon. It's an AR size/weight handgun that doesn't fit into a holster. It's going up in value though, i'll give it that. |

Anyone confident enough of this is welcomed to stand at fifty yards with bared scrotum and see if I can get two for two. From past range sessions, I’d say that person’s sex drive will be drastically reduced.

I had the same thought until I built a 5 inch 9mm upper and put it on my SBR lower with a suppressor and got some Endomags.
Endomags are a game changer for 9mm builds. No need for a special, magazine specific lower. |

Quoted: If you want an AR, get it in a rifle caliber. If you want a sub-gun. Buy an HK MP5 or SP5. View Quote Nope. 9mm is an effective self-defense round at short range and indoors with short barrels. It is an EXCELLENT round for training recoil-sensitive shooters (kids and many women). It is historically cheaper to shoot than 5.56mm. |

9mm AR's are bad ass.
Unfortunately I just can't afford to shoot mine anymore https://www.ar15.com/forums/Equipment-Exchange/9mm-ammo/133-2092068/ |

Until the emergence of gas-operated and delayed-blowback ARs in 9mm, OP was correct.
Blowback 9mm AR is silly. Might as well use a HK93 as your .223 rifle because you'd be doing it all backwards. |

I keep hearing this but imo it’s like shooting a .22 and a .22 mag. Anyone complaining about a 9mm AR needs to shoot some 12 ga slugs. |

I really like my CMMG. Steel targets up close are an absolute blast with this thing. Runs like a champ, even when filthy. It really could use a shorter barrel and a big fat suppressor though. Maybe someday.
My only gripe is that I’m a reloader and this sumbitch sends brass into the next county. Except Blazer Aluminum. That weak shit just dribbles out and lands at your feet. Attached File |

View Quote Everyone should shoot 12 gauge slugs through an 11" AOW one-handed (with bonus points for pumping it using only that one hand, and emptying the whole mag tube). After that, everything has less recoil and is easier to operate. |

I had a 9mm Colt, I had to sell it during some hard times. I sure do wish I knew where it was. Maybe one of these days it’ll find it’s way home.

I like most any 9mm carbine I’m just not that big of a fan of the AR platform in general anymore. There are so many better options out there. The gas system sucks for shooting suppressed, the buffer tube / lack of folding stock sucks. The only thing it has going for it is aftermarket and parts availability.

This gets traction here for some reason. I fire any of my 5.56 ARs loaded with 77g BTHPs, then fire my 10.5" barreled 9mm AR and the 9mm is softer shooting.
