I read the job requirements and then imagined the people who are trained and experienced in this. The amount of social engineering that has gone into ensuring government investigators are of a certain mindset and focus when they begin examining some of the intel and what they are and are not allowed to actually say/do. The reference databases which have been altered to only give certain results. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience includes: Experience in conducting comprehensive surveys of criminal activity and conspiracies Collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and developing intelligence reports and analytical products used in criminal investigations for grand juries and criminal trials Analyzing information from complex criminal conspiracies and developing collection databases Developing conclusions and projected estimates of anticipated criminal activity Imagine finding some Jihadis who are transporting weapons or doing training and it's tied back to a mosque somewhere in the US. Money being funneled through here, guns over there, used cars being used as the laundering mechanism. When you start to put the pieces together you reference names in databases and you might find some interesting stuff but not nearly what is expected. Then, you and your team start to look at building a case and the next thing you know your supervisor is waving you off because "reasons." So, after your critical race diversity training you are told to focus in other areas and lo and behold there is this database with all this information about various causes and a lot of your team is saying look, these guys fit this profile from this magical database that we're allowed to really dive through and guess what? They're just like right here in the US and on this website and it's easy to figure out who they are... Your supervisor is proud of you. You can build a case and present actionable intel to agents in the field who can then pursue these "dangerous" people and groups. Too bad it's some guy who lives in a trailer who spouts off on the Internet about being a colonel (SHOTAR!) with his SKS. |
