There's a good reason why out of band NV and lasers are starting to be a thing.  Even in the 3rd world, radiating 850nm IR is about as bad as running Gen 0 active now.

Also ITAR is mostly bullshit.  The chinese have >2000FOM tubes.  Derp.

You'd think those could be cut up and imported as parts kits with no problem...

My dad had one of this MH homemade pistols. Even with similar markings.
Was that a thing? He had it since the 80s

After being there for a bit, it would have taken a lot to impress me by seeing a rare or odd firearm.  Iraqi weapons were like if the US never had the NFA, import restrictions and everything was bought from an early '80s firearms importer/distributor.

President of Kragujevac/Zastava told me that (demilitarization in an adjacent building of new weapons) about 15 years ago.

I transferred warehouses full of U.S weaponry to the ANA.

Not saying some didn't, but peanuts compared to what we gave away. At any given time the warehouse (s) propertybook averaged 3-4 billion USD.

Image if you will the effect of that amount of weaponry in the hands of the citizenry as our founders intended. Would there be "bullet buttons" and magazine bans, if the California Brigade of Dragoons thought it was a bad idea?

I don't have a nomenclature offhand, but its definitely an offroute landmine (EFP) with sensor package.   Looks like  Russian version of the SLAM.

They all made their way there via Yugoslavia post-war.

They are making their way to the EU as deactivated guns....and selling for big money.

They will never make their way to the US.....that opportunity ended about 25 years ago....You could buy the parts kits/dummy guns all day long for 3-400 dollars in the mid-late 90's

There is a lot of cool stuff languishing in Central / South America thats much easier to get into the country.....Last time I was down there (Ecuador - 2002), I was offered 3 Colt Gatlings in .43 Spanish for 5K each.....all had been tastefully spraypainted in chrome bumper paint. They also had a few Chilean Contract Jap Type 3 HMG's in 7mm Mauser for sale

Sadly this is what they did to the 3 killed SEALs on Operation Red Wings.   Video exists of the goat fuckers pilfering the bodies of all their kit, and M4s.

Another example that touches on your reply is when the DEVGRU chopper was shot down shortly after the Bin Laden kill mission in A-Stan by a magic bb.  Again the goat fuckers were ransacking the wreckage, but this time all the gear was blown up.  I vividly remember seeing a charred barely recognizably HK 416 lower receiver

Not contradicting anything you said, just giving some real life examples to the scenarios you described.

What a great reply.   It kills me to know the blood and treasure we spilled in Iraq for the ultimate result we currently have.   That's not a statement on the actual war fighters, rather the absolute terrible two Presidents who resided over that war.    I've seen pics of the plane loads of cash....a literal plane load of U.S. currency at the beginning of the war.

I remember reading some shit that it was supposedly more expensive to ship those relatively new at the time IED resistant type vehicles back home verses just leaving Iraq.

Hard to fathom all the waste.  I also wonder if the ANA have killed as many of our people as the Taliban

Fuck the ME, it only it could be turned into a glass parking lot.
