Tonight’s selection. Three new bottles, a mild wheater, an old standard and a hot high rye. All very different, all very delicious, all between $22 and $30. With some gourmet toffee on the side.

Picked up a bottle of 1792 BiB. Last one on the shelf. Once I finish this Pikesville Rye I will crack the 1792.

Alabama has moved to a monthly allocated bourbon release to help spread the wealth out instead (or in addition to) the annual November release.

Wanting to try some better bourbons but a lot of the bottles people seem to like are unavailable here. I've had Bulleit, woodfords, knob creek and basil haydens and want to try something different.
In the $50-60 range I have seen Michter's, willet pot still, 4 roses single and sbs and bib and tucker 6 year. I'd like something dark, sweet and flavorful. Anyone have thoughts on which of these to try? |

That’s what makes bourbon so great, flavors for everyone. Based on your request and the bottles you mentioned, I’d personally go with Four Roses Single Barrel, great pour. Either way, enjoy. |

View Quote Thanks for the reply. What's the difference between the single barrel and the small batch/sbs? I ended up getting the bib and taylor and like it a lot. Lots of rye pepper. I like rich, complex flavors with a lot of depth and this fills the bill. |

Grabbed the first bottle of Blantons I’ve seen in two years of living in AK. Opened it last night with a Buddy and it was a pretty tasty pour. Not OMG memorable but very delicious and easy to sip.
