HF ham radio. Nothing neater than making contacts halfway across the world with 5 bucks worth of speaker wire.
That and refinishing old kerosene lanterns. Got two sitting across the room that are 95 years old, and hopefully they'll last another hundred with some TLC. |

Then got a Traxxas Nitro Ruslter, made an outdoor track at another family members pad out in Jamul. We made that track with a Ford Skip-Loader. Me and two friends also branched off to road cars. I had a Kyosho Mercedes thing that was belt driven all wheel drive as well as a Traxxas Nitro 4 Tec. We raced those in wharehouses in North County that a buddy was a security guard for. Also jump into some offroad and on road games on ps and XB One. No PC here either. I only have a witeless controller for those, though. |

It was coin collecting. I have $200K+ sitting in a safe deposit box but now I feel like I'm too old for any reasonable profit. I can't even look at them without an appointment to get into the bank right now. I should probably keep a little for my son and sell the rest.

Some really neat coins to look at. I remember his first big gun safe I saw. I was like, "Cool! What new guns you get to go in it?" He opened it and it lit up some of his pieces. He said, "None, just for some of the coins." Some of their history is what interests me. I don't know anything about coins as a collector or as an educated coin person. Maybe someday! |

I used to be an Historical Trekker.
The idea is to go into the wilderness for an extended period of time with only the gear available to the first settlers of your geographic area. For us it was the longhunters in the early to mid 18th Century. Me and two friends (one of which recreated pre-Columbian native culture) would hit the trails in the Appalachians for long weekends to up to 2-3 weeks. Some of the best days of my life, that really put things in perspective. Moccasins were expendable items. You either needed to re-sole them every third day or get a new pair. Also, game laws seem more like suggestions after a couple days without food. I'd like to get back into it one day. |

I use electrolysis to recondition old cast iron skillets/Dutch ovens and other cast iron cooking pieces. I had to slow down, I was running out of room to store them.
I buy a piece for a few bucks from a flea market that's rusty and gross and make it like new again. |

For years my thing was online flight sims such as Airwarrior and i had the full thrustmaster pedals, throttle and stick setup. Was part of an squadron that flew around the clock and had a lot of good times flying ww2 aircraft in the ETO mostly. The fw190 was my fave bird.
Got married and spending 5 hours a night online suddenly wasnt possible. Nowdays its ham/shortwave radio and GPS units/Geocaching. And guns and knives. And flashlights and batteries/chargers. Shit, i got too many hobbies again. I want a motorcycle too. |
