Quoted: Yes I am going to adjust my goal amount when I know what I can comfortably contribute myself. This will be lowered before day's end. This absolutely crossed my mind. I'm still working on piecing this process together. View Quote OP fwiw you have time :) the first surgery has a lengthy recovery for you to save up for the second. Since its a bone cutting surgery it is not recommended to do both at the same time if you can avoid it. Also even though it sucks its not life threatening and can wait a bit while you so without much issue. People who need knee surgery typically are told to lose weight for awhile first and it takes them months to get it on the schedule for comparison. |

View Quote It's definitely tough watching him hobble around hurting, but I know he'll be back to himself in due time. I believe the plan was 3 months apart if I recall! I also had to take a furlough this past Wednesday (5/20) so I'll be out of work for a month or so which gives me time to sort some more of the fine details out. On the bright side I'll be around for the first week (give or take) of his recovery. There are some silver linings present. |

Op, don’t let the assholes make you feel like shit for asking for help. Just about everyone needs help at some point.
Donated in memory of my Golden Retriever we had to put down on Mother’s Day. Good luck with your pup brother. |

Hit.
I remember when I had issues with my dog. The only thing I wanted was to do the right thing by the dog. That's the deal we make with our canines. Furthermore, spending on veterinary expenses helps further veterinary medicine. My dog would have never been 8 years old still RUNNING around on a new hip if others hadn't paid for the hips previously. The technology is a direct result of investment. Hope you meet your goal OP. |

Hit your Go Fund Me with a small donation. Wish I could afford more.
Do not feel even a little bit bad about asking. The worst thing about our society is that strong people are conditioned to NOT ask for help when we need it. It's beaten into us that if we need help, something is wrong with us, and if it's money we need help with, OMG that's even WORSE. Well, that's just bullshit. Everybody needs help at some point. This is General Discussion. The stupid people and scumbags have to show their asses because that's the only way they get attention since they live in their parents' basement playing video games and surfing arfcom in the dark. Mods will get them, but I know you may see it first. Just ignore it. They're idiots. Good on you for asking for help. Take care of your buddy. If you've done it unto the least of these, you've done it unto me. I try to live by that mantra. |

Hired Hitman do not give up hope you're almost halfway there in just five days. I think that's pretty good and you have to remember it is a holiday weekend let people get back to a normal schedule. More donations will come. I know I will donate again and I'm going to bump this to get your goal and Casper is fixed

Remember, crowd funding works by community.
If everyone who liked dogs gave $5 this would be over. You don't need to give a ton, you just need to donate. |

Sorry about your dog man, I hope Casper will be okay!
Hope he ends up better than a very prominent business owner around here and personal of friend of mine who was very sick with leukemia last year. Im glad Striker didnt deny your GoFundMe at least and Casper will get the help he needs. Rooting for your pooch man. |

Very grateful for the continued support everyone. I've already received substantially more in contributions than I was expecting. Pretty stoked with how this is going.

Halfway there bump.
Each of the Semper Fi Dog Rescue pooches kicked in $7 each, enough to put you over half way. This came out of my pocket NOT out of any funds donated towards my dogs. |

Im in! Donation made. Let us know how Casper is doing down the road. Beautiful puppers and happy to help.

Quoted: Sounds to me like you came away with the better part of the relationship. I too have heard "me or the dogs". Not a tough choice for me! View Quote Nope. Had a friend (casual acquaintance kind of friend) who gave us a kitten after she took in a stray female in the family way who showed up at her door. So flash forward a couple of years and she's dating somebody. This asshole boytoy took her cats out and was going to dump them. Some angel poked her radar I guess because she was at work and got the urge to call him. She called at the opportune moment and literally begged, in front of all her work associates, for him to not throw her cats out on some back road where she could never find them again, and promised she would find homes for the cats. She pleaded. She was a snotty tear-soaked mess. Her cats were her best friends. So we figured, "Okay, boytoy is gonna get the boot." A few months later we get the text from her saying "Oh by the way your cat's mom is at the shelter cuz boyfriend laid down the ultimatum and now that I'm pregnant I can't fight him on this anymore." We got the mom out of the shelter, but could not adopt her other two cats. She'd dumped all three cuz asshole boyfriend hated them. We sponsored the other two cats and I heard they got adopted, but I don't know what their lives were like after that. I said to her, "Honey, you left the wrong people at the shelter." Anybody who would do what he did deserves to be tied up and dumped on the side of the road in a ditch. Let him hope somebody comes along to help. Dogs and cats are the best people. Okay, yeah...sometimes cats are a-holes. But still. |

Whelp, it appears my hound got ahold of my Arfcom account and my credit card.
Go Casper! |

See if you can get them both done at the same time. It will cut down on the bill a bit with only one anesthesia. Most larger dogs can tolerate them at the same time well enough. There are many different procedures for ACL repairs in dogs. TTA is one, MRIT may be cheaper and just as effective.
