I was browsing the Army National Guard recruiting website and stumbled upon their "history" section. What a knee slapper this is! You need to check it out:

It also says on a previous page: "For over 360 years the citizen soldiers of the Army National Guard have come to the aid of their neighbors during times of need."

I mean I respect the people who serve this country as the next guy, but over 360 years? What's up with that? The National Guard was created by an Act of Congress more than hundred years after the Constitution was ratified. Am I wrong on this one?

The Dick Act of 1913 created the NG and they were federalized in the National Defense Act of 1916.

don't you see?  they're trying to undermine the 2nd ammendment by insinuating that they are the militia.  if they *are* the militia, then they can claim that the 2nd only applies to themselves and not all able bodied males as is the correct interpretation of "militia".
