Howdy everybody,
Ijust got done watching some tv with my wife, and we all know how that goes. She can not seem to settle on just one show, but watches three or four at once (remind your significant other of that fact next time they say: "you can only shoot one gun at a time" when you dream out loud of your next purchase). In the process of flipping back and forth, back and forth, etc... I found the only commonality that exists among the WB, NBC, ABC, and CBS is the all-too-tragic end of their wonderful, ratings-grabbing shows. It is simply amazing that the GUN is the special guest on a majority of these season finales (sp?). Charmed on the WB ended with one of the w(b)itches being shot through her front door w/ a deer rifle. ER on NBC ended w/ a hospital full of foster kids that were shot by a raving lunatic; all the while, mind you in the midst of saving lives, those phony doctors have the nerve to say: "jeeze, you think he would of run out of bullets by now" and "what is today? GUN DAY!?!?!". Oh no, that is not the end of it on NBC. When we went to commercial, the preview for Providence had something to do with the Father(the veterinarian) getting shot in the head (probably by a dog who was getting him back from cutting off his nuts). Disgusting you say, what else could they do to defame the law-abiding gun owners of this fine nation you say, why are they lying you say........well remember this all comes from the likes of those who put out crap like The West Wing, Jerry Springer, and every other show that immortalizes the moral-less poster children of Hollywood yet is agasp with mock terror when the fabric of society is rent in twain. To top it all off, the cable company called me tonight and asked why I am not a suscriber. As if the answer could not be clear enough: TELEVISION ROTS YOUR MIND AND CORRUPTS YOUR SOUL! [kill]
Hmmmmmmmmm, I think that I'll go buy another "assault rifle" tomorrow or maybe an "automatic handgun".............OH THE HUMANINTY!

Just when it could not have gotten any better:
The crazed lunatic that shot everyone up was shot by a lawful citizen that was carring concealed and the punch line was that: "Well, I guess that everyone should carry a gun (mock sarcasim)"
Even better, when the perp was brought to the hospital he was being taken up to surgery via an elevator w/ Dr. Green and wouldn't you know it.....he goes into cardiac arrest and instead of defib good ol' Dr. Green lets the SOB die

Do not get me wrong, I hardly watch tv, but I just could not stop myself from being a witness to such hipocrasy and bullsh*t.

Let us not forget FOX with their pathetic pile of horses**t show called "Boston Public", I'm fairly certain that about 2 out of 5 of their shows has a cameo appearance by "GUN" and the show revolves around all kinds of antigun propaganda and rhetoric.

Then there is even Titus that has had some pretty negative gun related stuff.

Fox News might kick some serious tail but Fox programing has for the most part followed the rest of the networks, in general it's just plain flatout CRAP!

It really sucks but to some extent I get a kick out of trying to predict what kind of crap any of the networks will try to pull off next, you know it ain't gonna be creative in the least because it's all been done at some point in the past and more than likely it will be one of their "ripped from the headlines" issues where the result will be "shocking" or will "grab you."

Bah!

Better yet, turn the goddamnoisybox off and go shoot something. [rocket]

(Such as, for example, the goddamnoisybox -- remember to pick up the pieces after you're done.)

A good friend of mine has a T-shirt (and bumper stickers) that reads: "Kill your TV"

What's really ironic is that he hosts shows on ESPN & ESPN 2. [}:)]

Exactly.  I do the same thing to my wife but the channels I switch through are generally Discovery, The Learning Channel, The History Channel, and Fox News

I haven't watched ER in...well, ok I've never religiously watched ER.

But just b/c there's a lot of hoopla around the boards lately about it, what exactly HAPPENED in tonight's episode that everyone here went up in arms about?  I've seen shootings, guns, rifles, etc enough times to get the entire "anti-gun" movement on TV, but this must have been really bad..??

About 3 or 4 seasons ago when I used to watch ER, there was a woman dr. on the show came from a family of cops and mentioned that she regularly carried a Beretta. She even got that carter guy to go to the range with her once.

Strange though, I thought that all handguns were essentially banned in chicago, the city where Cook County General is located.

I watched Law & Order the other night, the story line revolves around a crazy teen age boy that kills some student, a la Columbine.  We have got these shooting rampage stuff coming out of ears this seasons.  I bet the liberals are upset the gunners help defeat Al Gore.

My channel in my room would never stray from the History Channel and perhaps the Learning Channel if I actually had premium cable.

It is downright insane what cable companies charge to go from a basic rate on up to a premium option where THC or TLC are included, I'm already paying for a cable modem and that's expensive enough as it is without having to pay another 20 bucks a month so I can watch THC.

Just in case any of the youth in our schools have forgotten the copycat style mass shootings, since there hasn't been one for a few months, the media has decided to remind us all and keep up the epidemic.  Last night will be the last ER I watch.

I am so glad that someone started this post. I am an avid er watcher and am disgusted regularly with this bs. I was so mad last night i was yelling at my tv. especially when the kid that got the "lunatic" stated that he was carrying after he got mugged and Dr. Green said "yeah, just what we need. everyone should carry a gun." or how about the scene where the receptionist who is a former cop said "guns don't kill people, people kill people." the dr's rolled their eyes and shouted at him to shut up. Can we be a little more blatant. yeah, i noticed that the tv lineup was rather tainted to say the least. I thought that maybe it was partly in response to what the anti gun people see as a backslide on the action that Bush took this week but that was too recent to play into the season already. i sent an email to NBC of course, I am one of thousands (hopefully) and I am likely to be ignored like all the rest.

I occasional watch ER when I'm home, and watched last night.  The writers of the show have no shame.  The two doctors almost get violent when the big orderly guy states the facts about guns not being the problem. The black doctor wants to operate on a guy against his will.  Then at the end of the show the bald doctor murders a patient.

It just proves that Socialists always know best.  F' that show forever.

Heck yeah...Every day is GUN DAY!! If more of you liberals would carry a gun for protection the carnage would have ended sooner!

And that Croat Doctor killed a mugger earlier this season.  Beat his brains out on the pavement, then they lied about it to the cops.

I watch very little TV. I hang out on AR 15.com. Or I search the web for gun sites. TV is no good. I can't seem to get into that commie stuff.

I forgot 1 thing. The reason people can't think for themselves is cause they watch to much TV. They are being brainwashed!

Don't forget Fox's Dark Angel. The hottie and her genetically engineered super soldier are going to save this kid, and Dark Angel says: " I do't do guns". WTF. Notice how every show with a seemingly pro-gun attitude has been getting kicked off? I want Soldier of Fortune, Freedom, Harsh Realm, hell I wouldn't mind the A-team back if they would just shoot at someone and actually hit the guy.
