Hurt week 1, came back after the bye. Lost a couple games to Indy, Tennessee, and TB and they benched him during the TB game.

His per game stats looked like this...

IMO, the stats aren't bad for a guy who had minimal time to develop chemistry with guys in the pre-season and then coming off a rather serious injury he got thrown into a mixed bag of a season.

I feel like last year didn't do Gordon any favors for how much he can demand. At the same time...we all know he is a really good back.

After that he is stuck as a backup in KC (no surprise as Smith is a pretty good QB) and later on admits that at this point in his career he had lost the love for football and had considered retirement.

The above statement about Foles may be a bit backwards according to this article: https://www.espn.com/blog/kansas-city-chiefs/post/_/id/26630/nick-foles-lost-his-love-for-football-the-chiefs-helped-him-find-it  Andy Reid talked him out of quitting football and brought him in as a backup for that year.

Maybe they'll trade Watson.

They can have a formation with 4 RB's in the backfield. GENIUS!

You're right in that he had lost his love for football in between playing for the Rams and the Chiefs, but that article even points out how broken Foles was when he showed up in KC and that him playing there wasn't about starting it was about learning to love football again. You can't be in that mental state and be able to perform at 100%, and even though he quickly turned around his outlook on football that period of time he was in that mental state had to have taken a toll on him physically. It will take a bit to get back to form, and more importantly it's going to take 1st team and game reps to achieve 100%. That's why I mentioned it there versus prior. His time in KC can't be used to evaluate his potential as a starting QB as he was never there to be a starting QB. That may have been a "shitty situation" of his own making, but it was one nonetheless.

I'm not sure what that has to do with the kind of contract he'll take/get offered. Plenty of good not great backs get paid well. The interesting part will be to see if teams compete to pay him for his upside or if they have to beat down his asking price with his latest performance.

That move that makes little sense as the Raiders have a star TE in Waller and another young guy, Foster Moreau is not bad either.   It's Gruden though, we expect this.

i'm starting to wonder where the likes of Cam and Winston will play next season.

chargers seem content with tyrod. bears seem to wanna see two back ups duke it out.

maybe the next domino to fall is NE signing or trading for a QB, then some of the rest will fall in line. also have the draft coming up, too.

I learned in the past couple of days that NFL teams do some dumb things with QBs.

I thought the bears would make a move for Cam or see if they could get a year or two out of Brady or Rivers at a reasonable price. But they traded for Foles instead.

Brady is going to TB.
Rivers is going INDY
Bridgewater is going to CAR
Tanehill cashed in.

Meanwhile no one is even spreading rumors about the guy who lead the league in passing yards or a former MVP.

As starters, I bet both are done. Their only hope in signing is to be a back-up QB, IMO. Newton is coming off of all sorts of serious injuries and a couple of surgeries. No one is going to bet the team on that sort of physical specimen, IMO.

I never got to see him play (in person). Always thought he'd be there.

This Patriots fan will miss him and I hope he plays well in Tampa.

Think about how significant and rare it is for a guy so lacking in athleticism to be considered the Greatest Quarterback of All Time. He was the full-time starter for 18 seasons in New England...and played in 13 conference championships and nine Super Bowls. That's ridiculous.

Eagles trade a 3rd and a 5th to the Lions for CB Darius Slay.  The Eagles then signed him to a $50M/3 year deal with $30M guaranteed.

The Dolphins overpaid for Jones, but at least in their deal that had them paying a non-shut down corner over $16M a season they didn’t have to give up multiple draft picks on top of that.

They have yuuuuge O line needs. Loaded with wepons, Baker has a lot of upside, solid defense, but they probably need to spend the first 3 picks on OL. Hopefully 2 of them turn into starters.
