Yes.  The TRD Off Road has the same rear e-locker, Multi-Terrain Select and  Crawl Control as the TRD Pro.

It depends on what color you want.  If you want a "normal" color you can just start off with a TRD Off Road and be way ahead money-wise.  If you want Army Green the TRD Pro is your only choice, but you can always offset some of the cost by selling your wheels, tires and shocks.

WAS your only choice. The new(2021) 4runners will offer the PRO colors on a lower trim line.  Something to consider.

Well I’m about to replace both rear Bilstein 5160 shocks... First failure on the vehicle in 40k miles. Walked out and noticed my 16 TRD Pro was leaning a little to the right. Made a joke to my wife about her wearing out the suspension on her side and got a hand up the back side of the head...  Anyways, looks like it leaked (no noticeable oil) and the shock is 1 1/2” shorter than the drivers side. Haven’t pulled it to check rebound but from what I’ve read you shouldn’t expect more than 40-50k miles out of them. Found replacements on Amazon for $183 each, so I’m just going to do both. Hopefully I don’t have an issue with the fronts because those fuckers are $600ish each.

Gonna be an expensive month as I also plan to toss on a set of E load Ridge Grapplers.

First thing I replaced on my 2015 pro was the roof rack. I thought maybe the newer racks where an improvement.

Wanted to test the crawl and other controls out today.

Pretty nifty.

Cornfed 2/1.5 kit is sitting on my workbench and ordered some FJ steelies which should be here this week. Just need to decide which 285’s I want.

Build theme is something I’ve always wanted to do: white Toyota / Land Rover with steelies.

Here are some of the things Ive done to my 2017TRD.  Its a work in progress

I made a mount and installed a redarc dcdc charger.

it charges the 2nd battery.  The aux fuse block and ground busbar are mounted on top.

The five (of 8) wires from the aux fuse panel will power these 5 relays.  Im still working on wiring them.  I need to pull the wires to the console and pick the switch locations.

I made a mount for the air compressor. That tab mating to the fender is actually flush.  The threaded insert is stamped at an angle.

I pulled a large wire to the rear and added a fuse block for the rear accessories that will come later.  I used a piece of kydex with the same pattern as my dash for the cover.

I made some ram ball mounts from two part epoxy.  I purchased the oem factory plastic parts to use as molds.

I have two.  A TRD pro and a Limited.

I had a professional black out the rear decal on the pro. Toyota has a bad habit of mixing trims and it is my one some beef with them.  A chrome front bumper and a painted rear bumper on my Tundra make me scream “why” every morning.

I’ve put ceramic coatings on everything.  Everything has a toneau (inside for the 4 runners). Nothing else done though.

Here is a terrible picture of the fleet. Attachment Attached File

2019 TRD-ORP

Day 1:  removed those stupid "TRD Off Road" badges on each side (hair dryer to heat them up then just pull off).
Day 2:  removed back seats and put those in storage.
Day 3:  replaced factory tires with Michelin LTX (Nope, never ever getting BFG KO2's again in this life)
Day 4:  begin interior storage/sleeping build, whole thread on it on T4R.org

I eventually did the rear differential breather mod, takes about 30 minutes at most.

Added awning and roof rack.

Ordered a sprint booster here. Buddy has one on his Tacoma and said it’s awesome. His summary “get more gas with less input on the pedal”.

Just got a quote back for $100 per wheel to sand, prep, and coat.

Have no baseline of what’s a good rate or not.

Fo or no?

that is a pretty good price if its from someone who isn't fly-by-night level.  i'd pull the trigger.  i usually charge $850 to blast, prep and coat a set of 16"-17" wheels

Recommended to me by the local powder supply shop.

Seems legit based on its a business.

Is there a color standard or # I can look up to see what’s available in terms of grey?

@Finslayer83

another option is to just do it yourself and paint the wheels with duplicolor wheel paint.  i usually powdercoat alloys and paint steel on my personal vehicles.  my steel wheels get alot more trail rash because i have dedicated trail wheels/tires and touching up paint is easier than powder. for what it's worth
