Not much of a mod, waiting on RSG rock sliders.

Ellis Precision shift knob is really nice, much more ergonomic when downshifting.

Never saw your quote.  Did icon stage 7, got at3s in 285 on 8.5" rims and sliders.  Can't find any skids locally that I want and shipping is like $350 but those are next.

LED headlight bulbs- plug n play replacements $28.99

I just got these and the difference is unbelievable!  I have a 2010 Limited and the shading and look of the stock bulbs never did it for me. Unplug the originals and plug these in, no muss no fuss, and the cutoff is clean, right where it’s supposed to be. Makes the truck look 100 times better when they’re on and makes it much easier to see ahead at night!

Couple weekends ago I showed a member of one of my facebook groups (Natural State Overland) some of my favorite spots nearby in Missouri. I'd wanted to go check out some trails off Glade Top Trail but there was a raging forest fire up there.

Grabbed a couple pics:

In the past i've had a 76 fj40, 85 and 87 Sr5 4x4 pickups.

Needed to get a new fun truck was looking for something along the same lines then the wife brow beat me into getting a new vehicle.
New as in NEW, not new to me.

I didn't put up much resistance as I personally had never had a new vehicle. Put $100 on a new Bronco but pulled the trigger on a '21 4Runner TRD Off Road.

In happy

First in going to put some tires and wheels and see where it goes from there. My previous Toyos were all pretty much stock and I went anywhere I wanted to go. So I'm going to go slow and see what I need.

Well... I bought it because I wanted to.

But since this thing always wants to sit at around 1000rpm, I've been occasionally changing to lower gears to break the engine in.

It wasn’t bad.  Did watch a YouTube video and their video.   I didn’t have to pull any of the center dash out

Just make sure you have the tools to remove the underdash

And I think there is an order you have to follow when turning the car back on for the first time and hit some buttons in a certain sequence

If you do one and then a buddy’s you could probably do the second one in an hour

Naturally had to drive all over the countryside today. Unfortunately no mud, it’s all dry.

Lots of dirt and gravel though.

Took a drive to Glade Top Trail this afternoon. There's an old Cemetery off one of the side roads. I've been down there before and decided to to take an off shoot of that trail. Found a real neat rocky trail that looks to go on for miles. Going to try to grab another rig to go with me later this week and explore the whole thing.

Brand new 2021 build. This is the first time I've done a major build on a brand new 4Runner.
I've been planning this for years.

2021 Off Road Premium
Icon Stage 7 with 3" Overland Springs
Nitto Ridge Grapplers (285-70-17)
Black Rhino Primm wheels (17x9)
SSO Slimline front bumper with high clearance side pieces
Baja Designs 30" S8 light bar
Warn Zeon 10S / Factor 55 Ultrahook
Frontrunner roof rack

Bottom two pics are when I picked her up at the shop on 12/23.
The Primm wheels come with gold beadlock bolts. I had them change them out for black.
The shop guys bitched about that when I went to pick it up; they had to change out 96 bolts.
I told them it was worth the effort; it looks awesome.
Merry Christmas to me!
Now it's time for some pics in the mountains!

The bumper took 3 1/2 months; I ordered it in August.
I'm still waiting on a rear bumper from SSO -maybe in January.
I'm going to do a body mount chop when it goes back in for the rear bumper; getting some minor rubbing at the extremes.

The 4Runner is a dream to drive on the backroads with KDSS and that suspension.
It rides better than any truck/suv I've had in the past.

Nice rig!

You need to go break stuff with the LFD OR guys.

They are near Davidson IIRC.

Or we need to have a ARFCOM East trail ride somewhere in TN, NC, or GA. (We can include non Toyota’s )

I'm up for a ride in the mountains just about any day. The ones that end up at a brewery/brewpub for lunch and a cold one are my favorite.
I'm west of Winston; so any of those areas are within a day trip for me.

Wowza, you went full-speed ahead with that build, eh?  Well done, sir

I don't think I do, not for the moment at least.  It's on the list of projects for down the line.

I don't think it will be too likely that I'll be running a load of stuff at once (ditch lights AND light bar AND compressor AND aftermarket sub AND fridge AND winch for instance).  I think my use will see the compressor used when the truck isn't supplying loads of power to the other accessories.

But as I say, a dual battery setup is in the works for this year most likely.

I'm going to do a body mount chop when it goes back in for the rear bumper; getting some minor rubbing at the extremes.

The 4Runner is a dream to drive on the backroads with KDSS and that suspension.
It rides better than any truck/suv I've had in the past.

Nice looking rig!!!

Side note. I'm still learning Gaia. Here's the track I was on yesterday:

Here's the off shoot (arrow) that looked really cool. Rocks, hills, mud, but pretty wide trails. Planning to go back and explore it with sunlight today.

Honestly, the OEM Audio+ is meh. This is the first vehicle I’ve owned without a $6k audio system in it though. I didn’t want to mess with the factory CarPlay head unit, so just popped the system in to make it bearable. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a decent upgrade over factory without investing much time/cash.

I think having the floor and doors stuffed would help.

Yeah, I agree.  The audio systems in these cars are pretty underwhelming, considering they market them as being incredible.  My E46 3 series' HK system still sounds miles better than my 2020 TRD Pro.  I even put in an aftermarket sub to try to make up for some of it, and that hasn't fully resolved its deficiencies.

I know it's not supposed to be incredible, but it's less than I had hoped for.
