Don't know about the CZ scout, son has a Chipmunk, now called a Davy Crickett.  Laminated stock, peep sights, well made in the USA. It's been thru everything that a little boy can do to it, and except for a few scratches, it's great.  Even has a nice trigger pull.  Started him out on it at age 4.  He does quite well when he remembers that he's not just a little boy, he's a shooter......
 Highly recommend the DC.

Isn't buying a CZ rifle for a young child a bit like buying designer shoes for him?  He'll grow out of it before ever can ever appreciate it.

I'd buy a cheap child sized Marlin for the first gun, and get a nice CZ for when he's 10 or older.

Of course, you could get both, and break in the CZ for when he's big enough for it.  I handled a CZ-511 a few days ago.  Terrific feel and sights.
