i think this is really bad for the country, creating huge politically powerful monopolies. more people losing there jobs, less competition, and the division and break down of the middle class.
maybe im wrong here, but when people talk about New World Order and 1 World crap the mega mergers is what i think will bring us there, and not through the world govts.

AOl/Time/Warner/ABC/Disney and who ever else is involved there -- anyone think this is a GOOD thing ?

yes - it's called capitalism - it's all part of the normal operations of a free market.

The "side effects" you mention is what actually happens under socialism - history tells us that the anti-capitalist fear mongers are full of hot-air. People said the same thing about J.P. Morgan, Rockefeller, Carnegie, and others 100+ years ago. This era of mergers is based on the same market forces, only different industries.

Governments are what we need to fear, not corporations. What corporation has ever committed genocide? A corporation exists to make money - plain and simple. The motives of a politician are never so clear. I prefer the honest pursuit of money over the politician scenario anyday.

WHAT?! HONEST?!  A corporation will at all costs, do anything to keep it's agenda.  Even at the expense of the ones who keep it running, or the innocent.  No different from a politician.

I dont know what motivation is worse, money or politics.

Worried? No. I know the enemy and choose to prepare to face that enemy. Trying to separate corporations from governments is futile, and only taxes your brain power. They are one and the same.

"The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the Government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson." A letter written by FDR to Colonel House, November 21st, l933
