My sister and brother in law rode through Lewiston on his motorcycle a few years ago.
His own words: think of a combination of the middle east and Newark, NJ. Said he was shocked as he had never heard of it before. Thats all you need to know. |

If I were a taxpayer of that municipality, I would insist that the Chief of police publicly state what particular section of the penal law they intend to charge the sign hanger under, or answer who will be paying for the tax dollars spent in the investigation of non-criminal activity that happens to be protected free speech. View Quote Everyone has a right to be proud of who they are for whatever reason they want. The insanity of this national double standard is disgusting. |

Those signs are OK, I guess. But "Max Hardcore is not a crime!" signs are better.
|
|
Why? Who cares? Since when does exercising someone's freedom of expression rise to the level of being investigated?

What is there to investigate? Is putting up that flyer illegal?

"okay" is playing into the narrative to begin with.
It's good to be white. |

LEWISTON, Maine — School officials at Bates College in Lewiston are working with city law enforcement to identify the source or origin of flyers recently posted around campus that read, "IT'S OKAY TO BE WHITE."" View Quote |

Lewiston police said they had a couple of reports questioning the signs, which officers removed Sunday afternoon because they were attached to utility poles, which the law prohibits.

That was the whole point of the meme campaign. To trigger racist people without actually saying anything racist. I went back and looked, 8chan floated many many ideas and this was deemed the best. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

It’s not ok to be white in most of Africa, the Middle East, Central America and Atlanta.

Any sort of white pride is considered racist and extremist. The new reality View Quote It is if you aren't self loathing and ashamed of something that you had no choice in, then you are a racist. Only a matter of time before this nation morphs into something akin to modern South Africa. We are already a global minority. Related: I just spent about 10 minutes trying to find what percentage of the global population is non hispanic white, other then some obviously biased sites, I couldn't find a concrete number anywhere. |

Wish more communities had the same reaction as our director of Washington State University diversity department, Jeff Guillory (who happens to be black)...
Executive director of Washington State University's Office of Equity and Diversity responded to the posters by saying: "In my mind, it's a nonthreatening statement", further stating: "Sure, it's OK to be white. It's OK to be African-American. It's OK to be Latino. It's OK to be gay."[13] View Quote |

Had to add this from another site. (Another so called "news" outlet in Maine)
“The sign itself is ‘dog whistle’ stuff. It’s an old, white supremacist slogan, so it’s not as jarring as something else,” Bates student Walter Washington told the Sun Journal. “The thing the cop said to me is it’s not a crime because of the language, it’s a crime because of the city ordinance.”
Bates students and professors called the signs “intimidating” as they come in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand, where a gunman inspired by a white supremacist ideology killed 50 worshippers and injured 34 others, including children, at two mosques View Quote |

Quoted: That's just messed up how they make up new facts, and then push those fake facts into mainstream, so people will think "It's OK to be white becomes a racist slogan. Just like confederate flag, "fake news", etc. etc. View Quote Yet they continue to get away with it time and time again. I bet it was a non white person who actually did it! Wouldn't be the first time. If the sign said something along the lines of "be proud to be black, Muslim, Hispanic, etc..." It would be celebrated. |

To all you old timers out there (no offense) was the world always this fucked up?
Serious question. I watch older movies and older programs, and they all say pretty much the same as we're saying now. "What's the world coming to"? Stuff like that. I'm in my early 30s, but I don't ever remember shit getting out of hand like this. |
