What is the best mp3 player program out there? I like winamp because it can be reduced to a small size and be kept on top of whatever application is running no matter what, but there a lot of bugs. What do you use? Alternatives? Maybe I'll add a poll.

I've always like Winamp. Small, not a resource hog and it does the job.  Nice skins too.

I went back to version 2 after fooling around with 3.  For what I need it for, 2 is just fine and dandy.

I like version 2 better too but I don't know how to go back. 3 has to much junk and laggs like crazy. How do I switch back?

Go into your control panel and add/remove programs.  Uninstall Winamp3 and then download Winamp2 and install it.

I also rolled back from 3 to 2.  Winamp is a great little application.

Tacked for tonight so I can download.

Thanks, I've currently been using Winamp 3 but it does have a few bugs so I'll try out 5.

Winamp 3

I just use the main window and the playlist editor.

Most of the time I just have the main window up and have it play random.

I liked the early versions of winamp, recent versions don't run right on my XPpro set up for some reason.

Ok I would vote Winamp 5 if I knew how to get Winamp 5 to enqueue like Winamp 2/3 did. That was awesome.

Being able to play items in the middle of everything else is nice, you can basically set up your own play order in a playlist which is nice, is there any way to get the Playlist the behave like in the previous versions?

I really don't like it now because it just puts another playlist entry at the end of the playlist.

Thanks if anyone can help.

Winamp 5 does seem MUCH better than 2/3  besides this one small problem.

Winamp 2, 3, and 5(final) depending on which computer I'm using.

And the m$ media player that came on my PDA....it works, and as little as I use the PDA as an mp3 player, its not worth going and looking for an alternative....unless winamp brings out one for pocketpc [:D]
