Although in this case they made it a point to target the poorest people. They were promised goodies for their votes and were even turned into a paramilitary force. Even if that is 30% of the populace, throw in some election fraud and Bob's your uncle.

Yes, which is why the left has decided to import as many of these shitheads as possible. Low IQ, easy to please beggar/serfs are exactly what all governments crave. It's so much easier to please a poor person than an innovative, dynamic, intelligent citizen.

We are about halfway there. That's pretty close.

Over 40 million people on food stamps. Massive, uncontrolled debt. Inflation-inducing quantitative easing caused by said debt spending. Vast majority of population has less than $1000.00 in savings. Draconian, maniacal, low-IQ democratic base bent on removing what little is left of the human rights of the population.

It won't take much of a spark to start this fire, bud.

Guaido is an engineer by trade who did post-grad work at Geo Wash University.  He comes from an upper middle class family.  He's been a thorn in the side of Chavez and Maduro but his Popular Will party is called a "centrist Christian socialist" party and they espouse "progressive democratic ideals".

He was actually arrested (but was quickly released) by Maduro and was hit in the neck by a rubber bullet that left a scar.

So basically he will pick up the "fuck America, fuck capitalism, orange man bad, let our people migrate to the US" baton?

Because "centrist Christian socialist" sounds somewhere ever just slightly to the left of the current state govt in NY or CA.

Betting he won't be thanking Pence or Trump for the support, will just spit in their faces.

The population of Venezuela is frankly too stupid for either a functional Democratic government or organic free-market success.

The only path to success for Venezuela is an Enlightened Despot that embraces a guided free-market and individualism, which I doubt they have.

I am in California.

To paraphrase a famous saying "I can see Venezuela from my house".

Looking at our own state level elections and the amount of "ballot harvesting" that happened to ensure the left running the table, I would say we aren't as far off as we would like to think.

Truthfully, freedom only exists inside you. Politics is simply a means of forcing people to do things you could otherwise not convince them to do. Or not do.

No political person wants freedom. They simply want others to bend to their particular utopian political model.

Ummm, he could end up in in LA or SF ...sanctuary cities, where he'll establish a resistance and organize to overthrow the 'new' government.

If he makes it to Tijuana or Juarez ...process for asylum, since he has a legitimate claim to political persecution.

He could also end up in any of a dozen foreign nations and do the same type of organizing.

With any luck at all, the army will take care of the problem just like they did with the other 'resistors' that tried a coup not long ago.

Lands to our south are getting squirrelly. It's hard to say why. Venezuelans are spilling into to Columbia, mostly. Guatemala looks like it could return to full on civil war within a year. Nicaragua could go any day. Mexico is a mess that can't do anything about a massive inflow of people. It's tough to say where it's heading, but there's a lot more instability than usual down there.

Caught something under #venezuela that said the Russians are still backing Maduro as the leader of Venezuela and will use any means necessary to ensure he remains in power.

Sounds like fake news and I can't find it again but....

Also tons of upper middle class socialist twats on twitter talking about how this is a US backed coup while at the same time saying that Maduro's rule wasn't "true socialism". Yup, there they go again.
