I've given up on the books. The Mountain That Doesn't Write might get WoW out before he bites the big one. I doubt he'll finish ADOS.

TBH, I don't think he even really knows what he's doing anymore. He is supposed to be moving towards the end game and yet it seems for every storyline he wraps up he creates two more.

First off: The showrunners can do whatever they want. GRRM himself said all he can do is give them suggestions, but they could turn the show into something about robots and aliens if they wanted to. Secondly, the showrunners almost certainly having Daenerys win at the end has nothing to do with them being liberals. It has to do with them being in love with Daenerys.

Well, it's a 3-way for the throne now.
Jon has a better claim than Dany does...so he's dead.
Dany is loved but I could definitely see the show offing her for the OMG Who shot JR moment, let alone there's some precedence about her life being required to defeat the night king (IIRC)
Cersei has to go, comfortable with her dying.
Pretty much everyone else dies. An outlier or two will survive but have no legit shot at the throne.

Sansa is my guess, when the end is reached.

My guess is Winds will be released this year to play off of the show. Either right before, during, or a couple of months after the final. He was suppose to have it done 2 and half years ago to play it off the previous season, claimed it was a doable goal, but the fat fuck dropped the ball again. I believe he has it done now.
