Ponder for a moment all that has happened politically since our beloved Republicans have assumed control of our federal government. It:

Favors extending the AWB
Opposes arming pilots to protect airliners
Opposes free speech during election cycles
Favors expanding "New Deal" and "Great Society" give-away programs
Seeks to increase the spying powers of the gov't against its own people

HOW MUCH IS FUCKING ENOUGH!!!???

WHERE IS OUR FUCKING "LINE IN THE SAND!!??"

I'm ready now. We need to start with the IRS... Unfortunately, the masses won't be ready until we are in another "Great Depression" type of economic collapse. As long as "Joe Sixpack" still has a roof over his head, and the game on the set, he won't be too fired up to make any changes.

We, as a "free" people, are fucked. We don't have the freedom to speak out politically during the most crucial part of the governmental cycle: Elections. Take away free speech during elections and you are left with no free speech at all. We are fucked. Shit, no gun legislation was this bad. I'm so pissed right now. I hope millions more Americans will be soon, too. This cannot stand. If it does, our Republic is lost and we will become unarmed, muzzled peasants.

{sarcasm on} what a whiner. they didn't actually gut the Second or ban all firearms, just made some reasonable restrictions for the greater good of everyone. they didn't actually gut the First or eliminate all free speech, just made some reasonable restrictions for the greater good of everyone. {sarcasm off} Yes, this nation is totally lost. It is like watching the proverbial train wreck.

How? By introducing new legislation to repeal it? By bringing it before the Supreme Court again? ALL THREE branches are fucking us now, where the hell are we to go?
President Bush and his legal advisors blew it big time, by failing to use his 'bully pulpit' to veto the CFR law and telling the American People what they needed to hear - that POLITICAL FREE SPEECH was the only speech that the Founding Fathers wished to protect.

Yes, and instead of doing just that, they went along with it like the shams that they are.

If you can't gather enough people to leverage our political system into giving you what you want, you stand exactly zero chance of taking it by force. My guess is people are reluctant to draw a line in the sand when the outcome of that game is already very clear. Otherwise, they'd all be drawing their lines instead of worrying about who was going to join them or asking when will it be enough?

I sure am glad to see that some of ya'll are on the same page as I am. This country(God bless it)has gone to hell in a hand basket starting just after the "War of Northern Aggression" to the present with no sign of getting any better short of an all out over throw of the now disfunctional government. The main problem is that no one wants to break any laws and be put in jail by standing up for what they believe in. 2nd.Amend. wise, we're screwed. We've been left with a few token firearms to keep us quiet and make us think we still have "firearms rights" but we all know that's a bunch of hog wash. Now their beating up on the 1st Amend. and we don't have the fire power(or the balls) to change things. Damn it, we're all going to die some day, why not die fighting for what we believe in and trying to make a difference? We should have marched against the government when they had Randy Weaver trapped in his house and kicked the FBI's butt, we did nothing. We should have marched on the ATF when they held the Davidians captive, we did not. What in the sam hill is it going to take to make us come together and kick some butt? When ya'll figure it out give me a call and I'll get my gear together, until then I'll sip my Whiskey and watch Hockey.

So we compromise with the Devil and just ever so slightly slow the process? We shouldn't be having to fix something that never should have happened in the first place. The "wobbliness" I see is in the compromising of principles.

Yes, ETH, sometimes compromise is good and sometimes it's bad. I'd say compromise to found this nation is good, and compromise to facilitate its destruction is bad. Sure we compromise all the time, and so we only lost 10 years (likely more when it's renewed) re: the AWB compromise. What "better leaders" do you see in the two major parties? WG I could not agree with you more! I vote for the BEST candidate running period. I have great respect for ETH and those like him, after all we all have the same end goal in mind. However I see voting for the best candidate the last chance to stop collapse. If we keep compromising and playing politics we are doomed. Even a cursory glance at the last 40 years of our two party system shows a miserable downward spiral. I dream of a day when the Libertarians and the Constitutionalists debate on such topics as “how fast do we abolish welfare”, “do we return to the gold standard on Q1 or Q3”, and “do we really need shall issue permits for Class III anymore”

I don't think we're in Kansas anymore Toto. This is a post 9-11 world and always will be. You can never put time back in the bottle and this country can never be like it was three years ago. Fellas, when I was fresh out of college, I was asked to run for public office. Reluctantly, I agreed to do so (after initially turning the Republican Committee down). As the Lord would have it, I won the election and was State Representative for my district. I went where few dare to go. Now, with a little more time under my belt, the need arises yet again for someone to stand up and announce, "No More!" Again, I will venture into territory few people dare to go. Freedom and our posterity are praying for certain Americans to rise up and protect the inalienable rights our Founding Fathers said we were born with. The time has come. I will again go where few dare to go.

I vote for the BEST person WHO AT LEAST HAS A SHOT AT WINNING. To do anything else is to vote for the other side. All those saps who thought Perot was some kind of saviour HANDED the election to Klinton. Not that there would've been much difference between the two, or even George Herbert Walker Bush. But then again... GHWB AT LEAST had done some things in his life to deserve a smidgen of respect (WWII veteran, etc). Willy not only had done no such things, but continued to do his trailer trash acts inside the White House. The same goes for Dubbya. He ain't perfect. He does things that are not good for the country. But I dare ANYONE to tell me HOW IN THE HELL AlGore would have been a better choice for America than Bush. I'm sure some will. I want to hear the logic. The system is corrupt. The players are corrupt. The times are corrupt. It's all in prophecy. It's most likely going to go down as written. It ain't going to be pretty. GW isn't going to stop it. But no ONE person could. It would take the entire country (in other words -- THE PEOPLE) to stop being so selfish, so stupid, and so sinfull to fix it now. Understand that I am not totally resigned to this fate, but I am realistically preparing for it. So I don't care if you elected Moses to the throne -- if the people don't want to choose to live the right way then it ain't gonna matter. Remember Moses? The Godly man who felt like God had cursed him as he wandered in the wilderness for 40 years with a bunch of selfish whiners. I would imagine that being the POTUS would feel much like that. Just my $.02... [:)] Edited to add: The bunch of selfish whiners that I am refering to in my post are most likely NOT here on this board. However, we are all a bunch of selfish whiners at times. Also, as stated above, 9/11 changed things for us whether we like it or not. The sheeple demand that the gub'mnt make them feel "safe". So the gub'mnt is doing as requested. Which brings us back to the fact that the problem with this country is really with ITS PEOPLE in the end.

I'm glad you like me. No really, I do want to be liked, I consider this place part of my extended family and a "home away from home" if you will. [:D] Having said that here's what I'm for. Fire everybody. Every single politician (elected official) including the Supreme Court everywhere at every single level, Federal, State, local. Right down to the local school board. Anybody that's ever been elected to any office anywhere in this nation at any level...............fired. Start with the Federal level, firing starts tomorrow, elections begin Jan. 1 2004. None of these fired officials may ever run for any elected position anywhere ever again. Get a frickin job. Right now. Once you're elected to an office you can never run for that office again, you can move up, not laterally, not back down, only up. Include TERM LIMITS. No more lifetime positions at any level. 4 year maximum term. No more special "retirement programs" for elected officials. Pension funds are OK, BUT you must pay into them with your own money AND you will depend on your own investments and Social Security to fund your retirement just like the rest of us. Secret Service will protect you while you're in office, when you're out of office hire your own security if you think you need it. NO Lobbyist anywhere, for any reason, at any time, ever. No "Special Interest Groups" at all for anybody, any group, any business or any race at all ever. If you are not in a severely disabled, elderly with no family to support you, mentally retarded or wiped out by a natural disaster, no welfare from the state or feds at all ever. You must be a citizen by birth, own land and pay taxes to vote. You must be a citizen by birth to serve in the U.S. military. You must be a citizen by birth to hold any elected position. Flat tax. Across the board, EVERYBODY pay's the same percentage. If you can come up with a fairer plan, I'm listening. No luxury tax. No tax on food, prepared or otherwise food is necessary to live. No tax on keeping yourself fed. Capitol punishment becomes standard NOT MANDATORY on crimes like 1st degree murder, rape, and child molestation. Appeals on convictions only if you can pay for your own defense. No court appointed defense on appeal cases. No gun laws..........at all. Except that you have to be 18 to purchase, not to possess. 18 to CCW. No more United Nations. Withdraw our "membership", and give the rest of them 3 months to exit the country. Tear down the building and put up a park to help cleanse the air surrounding that place. Right now. Stop all Federal "subsidizing", right now. If your business cannot turn a profit your business goes out of business. No more "forgiving" federal loans to foreign countries. You borrow the $$, you will pay it back in $$ with interest. < That's a period. No more "mandatory sentencing guidelines" for criminal activity. You do the crime you will be tried by a jury of your peers and sentenced by a judge and jury who's hands are not bound by restrictions set by the Feds. Stop the "war on drugs" right now. Dissolve any Government agency responsible for carrying out this wasted effort. Enforce the common sense drug laws we already have. Elected officials do not have the ability to "vote" on their own pay and benefit packages, these items will be put to scrutiny/vote by the the constituents. Purposely burning the flag of the United States of America is a crime and if done within the continental United States is punishable by death. A person who kills my friend "Joe" get's treated no differently that somebody who kills the POTUS or a State Police Officer. Murder of any human being is murdering a human being. Respect the man not the office the man created. There's a start, I reserve the right to add more later as I get pissed off about something else. [:D] Hope everybody still likes me. Flame away.
