Yes, it's standard for when they do test fires.

Thanks.
I never saw the text of one in detail like like this.
Just road and airspace restrictions.
Not an 'evacuation notice'.

Has the same exhaust velocity of a modern ion drive. Very efficient, and high delta v.

Was going to post that but thought, nah, that's silly in a serious post.
Thanks for breaking the ice.

Both and more. They still run multiple test fires on Falcons too.

Basically just an integration test to make sure everything works together like it should.

Could be either, both, or neither.  Maybe they want to examine tile wiggle under full thrust. *shrug*

yes.  All sorts of things to check.  Valves, fuel flow, turbo pumps, and shut down and rapid restart sequences.

It's a new rocket under development.  Every change they make could have unforeseen consequences which could result in a rapid unscheduled disassembly(RUD).  So they run everything to check that everything is working properly.

And this one should have changes made to deal with the header tank pressure problem that developed on sn8.  Seems a good idea to do multiple engine starts during the pre-flight testing, just because of that.

I'm interested to see how they fix the header tank pressure issue. The helium tank temporary fix is not sustainable for their Mars goal, but would work fine for LEO

So they've got a TFR for tomorrow but no road closure scheduled.

That doesn't mean much since they can get the road closed with a call to the country without needing to schedule it ahead of time... but it is a little confusing that they haven't scheduled it ahead of time...

When they switched the camera view to the pad and the rocket was on top of the cameras and moving out of frame I was amused. Then they brought it way back. Its an interesting concept though hopefully they can get passengers soonish. I bet they sell a bunch of seats.

Monday for Starship flight?

After the booster landed they did not immediately switch to the capsule.  Weak video planning.  Or use split screens.

In other space news, the SLS Green Run is supposed to be this weekend.

https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-tv-to-air-hot-fire-test-of-rocket-core-stage-for-artemis-moon-missions

NASA is targeting a two-hour test window that opens at 5 p.m. EST Saturday, Jan. 16, for the hot fire test of NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket core stage at the agency's Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Live coverage will begin at 4:20 p.m. on NASA Television and the agency's website, followed by a post-test briefing approximately two hours after the test concludes.
