Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 50,000 Marines going to Iraq, Are they going to bring back the Combined Action Program from Nam?

Since this whole thing started I have been wondering if this would work again in Iraq. Everyone involved with this program, said it was highly successful in its day. Plus it was copied directly from British/Austrailian/New Zeland forces experience in Malaya, a insurgency that the Western forces actually won.

The British also made a similar program work in the 70's in Oman, another muslim country, though it was on a smaller scale useing SAS and SBS men only.

Are there any former CAP Marines/Navy Corpsmen here on the board?
